  1. I was actually recently thinking about how we could use a rotation mnemonic for this crew. Good that someone beat me to it as my procrastination would likely have delayed it until the season was over. IIRC, our first one was: Let's Treat Edgy At Dinner (and several variations of that)
  2. Braves complete the sweep of their two game series with Boston and thus delay any further lowering of the M.N.
  3. btw, it's a good thing the rules allowed the Reds pitching coach to stop the game in order to go out and talk to his pitcher prior to his THIRD batter of the game or else this game might have really gotten away from Cincy.
  4. With Philly (x3), Atlanta (x4) and Philly (x4) again (followed by the Yanx x2), these next few series have the potential to send this number plummeting rather quickly. They also have the potential to make starting this countdown in early August look like a really bad idea.
  5. It's only appropriate, I suppose, to be smacking around a guy whose name sounds like a Batman fight sound effect.
  6. 1:10 start so be ready, cuz the Mets are bringing their sticks and going for six. Taijuan Walker is coming off the worst start [CROSSOUT]of his career[/CROSSOUT] in the history of mankind. He faces T. J. Zeuch who I know little about because I often confuse him with other T. J. Zeuch's
  7. "Don't forget to call me when you get (almost) home" Second year Pittsburgh IF'er Rudolfo Castro lost it when he slid into 3rd last night. Lost what, you ask? The cell phone out of his pocket. Both runner and phone were ruled safe. It's tough not to score in extra innings with the Manfred Man rules in place, but the Yanx & M's managed to put up blanks in the 10th, 11th, & 12th frames until Seattle finally got the game winner across in bottom 13. Three DPs plus a caught stealing helped keep the gift runners from reaching home. 1 - 0 was your final in a game started by Gerritt Cole and Luis Castillo. Yanx totaled 3 hits in 13 innings and are 2-7 in their last nine games.
  8. Braves win 9 - 7 in 11 innings
  9. Braves score one under the clown car rules so lead 7-6 as they go to bottom 10. But Sawx have runners 1st & 3rd, no outs. Sox tie it up (Sav Fly)
  10. I think Kase might be confusing Mike Marshall 1B with Mike Marshall RH reliever.
  11. BoSox have the game on their racket as it's 6-6 heading into bottom 9 Kenley Jansen on to pitch.
  12. Chatter in the radio booth reveals that Wayne is repulsed by peanut butter.
  13. Yeah, I didn't budget my night with a rain delay in mind. Someone needs to let them know that this is most inconvenient for me and to get things going as quickly as possible.
  14. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I went with states because I thought we had done that once before, but couldn't prove it! We last did states to count down to the end of the Trump administration.
  15. Nimmo (and also Pete) didn't look good last night. Combine that with the LH starter and it's a good day for an off-day.
  16. The Strive for Five (straight wins)
  17. Yanx broke their five game losing streak out in Seattle late Monday night. On the flip side, Matt Carpenter broke his foot (foul ball) and will be sidelined for a while and possibly for the year. Judge hit his 44th HR although, even with that, Carpenter was Still out-HR'ing Judge on a per/PA rate this season. Braves will spend the next two days in Boston then head to Miami for four games over the weekend. Phils host the Marlins for three starting tonight as they prep for the weekend at CitiField.
  18. Yeah, I pretty much settled on Luis as well. I think it was rifle-armed JDD prior to his trade.
  19. Duh! Vogelbachstop.
  20. If someone remains unidentified in this thread is that player then QANoN?
  21. Well That makes me feel a lot better. This had the makings of a game we led from the start but was very vulnerable to getting away.
  22. =kcmets post_id=103036 time=1660009102 user_id=53] Lost here on a slow IGT night, but Bassitt has thrown a gem.
  23. I didn't realize until sometime today that this was a 19 strikeout game for the NYM staff! 12 of JdG's 17 recorded outs were K's So were 4 of Joely's 7, and all 3 outs notched by Diaz Wowzers! And maybe Strider Spencer (or whatever his name is) can figure out why one club managed to get the lion's share if the soft hits. That in order to get soft contact you first have to have, y'know, contact.
  24. Not exactly a scintillating game here. Low scoring, but hardly pitching dominant. A mix of good and not so good D Lots if soft hits LOBsters all over the place.
  25. I've used it as my "intro music" when starting my pub quiz nights this year too. Catchy AF. I've rigged it up so it automatically plays each time I enter a room. It annoys the hell out of people which of course is my intent.
