  1. Oh man, I wanted a Vogeltriple!!!
  2. Phils win in the 11th to complete a sweep of the Rays Marlins get shut out by Cards Braves off
  3. 12-0 in favor of the O's in the Bronx Baltimore currently batting in the top of the 4th!!

  5. And here's to you Mr. Robertson
  6. Edgy MD wrote: Getting Canha up against the lefty here is the reason Buck didn't pinch-hit for him two innings ago. Same reason I didn't want to PH for him also.
  7. He [Alvarez) is an enthusiastic young thang ain't he?
  8. The ghost of Rod Beck in for the save.
  9. We're going to need several of those late innings runs again tonight.
  10. And Buck agrees ... but it doesn't work anyway.
  11. I'd stick with Canha here despite the RH reliever coming in.
  12. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: The beaned cameraman is also a mets shooter, lots of thoughts and prayers posts on Twitter Yeah, he's the father half of the pere and fils pair of roving cameramen that SNY did a short feature on last week. Tonight he was on a stationary camera at the far end of the NYY dugout.
  13. Senga retires Alek (and his droogs) to finish a scoreless 5th.
  14. Not sure which ad I'm more sick of seeing: - the guy touting the MLB-related "games" from Bet.com (or whichever site that is) - or Jazz Chisholm playing video games with Jeter
  15. An air-mailed throw from the Baltimore SS sailed into the NYY dugout and beaned a YES cameraman delaying the game for some 15 minutes as medical people attended to him before eventually stretchering him out. Only half-watching and with the sound off so not sure if there's been any updates in the hour or so since it happened. 4-2 O's in bottom 7
  16. Murphy did say that he retired due to injury(ies) -- knee(s) IIRC -- not because he felt like he could no longer play. I guess they feel better after a couple years off. And it's another day so the Braves put up a four run 1st. That's now 91 1st inning runs in 86 games, a rate which projects to slightly over 9.5 R/G or a bit higher than the avg total of both teams combined in a full game. Mets, btw, still stuck 23 1st inning runs, or less than 2.5 R/G
  17. Sounds like he has a Gott complex.
  18. It's only ten games so far but Daniel Muffy is slashing .342/.413/.488 with AAA Salt Lake City. That follows 37 games with the L.I. Ducks where he racked up a .331/.410/.451 line. And y'know Mike Trout is on the shelf for a while. Just sayin'
  19. Four runs from the 7th inning on in Tuesday's game following three 7th inning or later runs on Sunday (after SFG had put up three in the top half of the 7th). That's what was missing the entire month of June. Aside from scoring the ghost runner in the 10th to beat the Yanx, the Mets didn't score a meaningful run past the 6th inning during the entire Joon Swoon. (getting five in the 9th vs Pitt when down 14-2, or five in the 9th vs HOU when already up 6-1, doesn't qualify as 'meaningful ')
  20. And the [CROSSOUT]Indi[/CROSSOUT]Guardians win it with a two out RBI 2B handing the Braves their first loss in 11 games.
  21. Braves are in Cleveland and just failed to score in the 10th even with the clown car rules (inning ended on an 8 - 2 FO-DP) Guardians batting bottom 10, 1st & 2nd after an IW ... and they just Sac-bunted into a 1-6-4 DP !!!
  22. Yeah, Tuefel facing one time SFG hurler Jim Gott back in the day was usually a launching pad for jokes 'round these parts.
  23. About $4 mil for Flexen apparently. I happened to see a piece of a Seattle game a few days ago and was surprised to see Flexen's ERA north of 7.00 when he came into a game. He had two pretty decent seasons post-NYM so I'm not sure what happened lately but it includes 13 RA in his last 5 outings totalling less than 9 innings.
  24. The ESPN crew mentioned Pete in the HR Derby so often last night that you'd think they televise that event or something. Quite a coincidence also that they chose him to be their in-game interview giving him a platform for his 'surprise' announcement.
  25. So just as the Mets are in the midst of a torrid two-game winning streak with signs of month-long domination sure to follow, the schedule isn't going to allow many of us to get our required NYM fix. Mon 7/3 - Off Tue 7/4 - 4:10 Holiday start Wed 7/5 - 9:40 Thu 7/6 - 9:40 Fri 7/7 - 9:40 Sat 7/8 - 10:10 (grrrrr) Sun 7/9 - 4:10 Mon 7/10 - Off Tue 7/11 - ASG Wed 7/12 - Off Thu 7/13 - Off Fri 7/14 - 7:10 ... back home vs LAD but it's freakin' Apple TV only So basically I get to sit down and watch a Met game live and in its entirety probably twice in the next 12 days and, now that I think about it, plans for the 4th means I'll have to catch up with that one later that night via delay so now I'm down to one between now and a week from Saturday 7/15 [FOX @ 7:15]
