  1. 8-2 Braves, still batting in the 3rd (1 out). NYY starter Clarke Schmidt's night is done.
  2. There have been some plays tonight that would look bad this coming week in Williamsport.
  3. He was pulled mid-game Sunday night a couple innings after an awkward slide.
  4. Carrasco is going to be over 100 pitches by the 4th inning at this rate.
  5. We caught a couple of breaks in that top 1: a (slightly) generous strike 3 call and the out of the baseline call.
  6. Braves get to do the NY/NY thing back to back, except in their case they still have to travel since it's the Yanx in Atlanta for a three game set starting tonight. Yanx are in a precarious position right now. Not just in last place AL East but just two games over .500 and a skinny +1 in run differential for the season. So a sweep would drop the Yanx below the waterline in both categories which is something not seen in Yanquiland this late in the season in about three decades. And I'm pretty sure that Gerrit Cole pitched Saturday and so isn't on the slate again until after this series is over.
  7. The Pirates, btw, played the Braves in the series just before ours, but instead of getting shut out twice and having Single A teams look at our performance and say, 'Man, those guys really suck', Pitt played three close games and won two of them; had a +1 run differential which rates just a slight bit better than our -34
  8. I have no memory of Gooden pitching for the Rays OR for the Spiders/Indians/Guardians It's stuff like that which makes me suck at this game.
  9. So we won one of four which ain't great but it's something, especially since the Pythagorean projection based on our RS v RA suggests that we should have gone 0-9 during the four game series.
  10. I'd feel better with a couple more runs here. I'd feel safe with 15 or 16 more.
  11. Or do it on the very next pitch, either way. Mets have about a 5% chance of winning this game.
  12. Just don't let the the tying run get to the plate. These guys have bat boys who own double digit HR totals.
  13. Do you suppose it would fuck up the Braves karma if announcers were to start calling them Ronald Acuna II and Michael Harris Jr.?
  14. The bases loaded BB ... our old secret weapon.
  15. Tonight's 1/4 w/RiSP isn't much but it's at least an improvement on the 1/23 (Vogelbach's totally meaningless HR) over the first three games of the series.
  16. Pete's turned into a real Three True Outcomes monster during these last few weeks.
  17. A HIT w/RISP!!!! A HIT w/RISP!!!!
  18. Senga finds his range in innings 2 and 3 But there's still that whole insurmountable lead thing.
  19. =ashie62 post_id=134492 time=1691630349 user_id=90] Newly acquired Michael Lorenzen no-hits the Nationals for Philly
  20. I don't care if it involves an NL East team or not, the Marlins, down 7-2, scoring 1 in the 8th then 5 more in the 9th to beat the Yanx 8-7 just might me not hate baseball for a short time this weekend. Bottom 9 w/Clay Holmes on the mound: 2B, K, IF 1B, BB, E-1 (2R), 3B (2R) BB, GW RBI 1B
  21. We don't do two out RBI hits. We give them up ... we just don't get them.
  22. 'nother lead off batter on
  23. Orlando Arcia career OPS+ = 81 This season = 117 Dansby Swanson (aka: the guy he replaced) = 106
  24. This game could still end 21-3 like Game one ... except that we probably can't get to 3
