  1. Nice hustle 2B by Alvarez and a good time (2 out) to try it. Worth the gamble even if out. And I thought he was going to be out.
  2. This Licata guy seems to be the local king of the 'Hot Take'
  3. Anyone have 'Brandon Nimmo OF Assist' on their BINGO Card?
  4. Starting this week with a quick note from the short first week. As discussed briefly during one of our games, the SFG opener this year extended their streak of using a different starting LF'er to a remarkable 18 straight seasons! Ya wanna know who they are? Of course you do, especially as how four of them have NYM connections. Some of these names might also come in handy during a future I.G. game 2007 - Barry Bonds 2008 - Dave Roberts 2009 - Fred Lewis 2010 - Mark DeRosa 2011 - Pat Burrell 2012 - Aubrey Huff 2013 - Andres Torres 2014 - Mike Morse 2015 - Nori Aoki 2016 - Angel Pagan 2017 - Jarrett Parker 2018 - Hunter Pence 2019 - Connor Joe 2020 - Alex Dickerson 2021 - Austin Slater 2022 - Joc Pederson 2023 - Blake Sabol 2024 - Michael Conforto Whoops, I put this one in the wrong forum so if someone could move it when you get around to it that would help to make me look less stupid
  5. 91 score today which included five Mets
  6. 38 score for me. For 1 Team/OF I went with yesterday's starting RF for the Brewers Jackson Chourio just to see if they were quick enough on updating their database. They are. Cavan Bingo is a good pick. I went with papa Craig for 2,000+/OF Using both would have been cool.
  7. 71 for me ATL/CHC - Dansby Swanson - 19% CHC/100 RBI - Hack Wilson - 5% CHC/10+W - Bill Hands (0.8%) MIL/ATL - Hank Aaron - 34% (I missed a chance to use one of my faves here, Jim Bouton) MIL/100+ - Ben Ogilve (2%) MIL/10+W - Teddy Higuera (5%) NYM/ATL - Felix Millan (2%) NYM/100+RBI - Bernard Gilkey (2%) NYM/10+W - Gary Gentry (1%)
  8. =Radar post_id=150017 time=1711725758 user_id=182] I like our lineup as well. If our starting pitching can hold up I think we hopefully are looking wild card. It's dependent on our starters.
  9. The only downside for 'Lanta was that catcher Sean Murphy [CROSSOUT]appeared to injure his hand[/CROSSOUT] pulled an oblique muscle on a swing and was forced to leave the game mid-AB.
  10. Getting to this a little late: First hit: Starling Marte First HR: Starling Marie First RBI: Starling Marte I'll get to the rest a bit later
  11. A 9th inning PH Travis Jankowski HR for Texas ties up the Cubs in bottom 9 He had one in 247 ABs last year, and just one since a stop in Philly in 2021
  12. Bottom 9th, Yanx up 5-4, Clay Holmes in for the save: Single line-out 2nd (Altuve) infield single (Y. Alvarez) 1st & 2nd Single (Kyle Tucker) ... runner thrown out at the plate!! (Soto to C) ... Reviewing ... Not overturned (correct call IMO) btw, I would NOT have sent him - Still 1st & 2nd, Alex Bergman up w/2 outs 6-4 FC Please arrive home safely.
  13. After allowing four runs during the first trip through the lineup, Cortes settled down. Framber Valdes for Houston never did. Nine HOU walks allowed (including one w/full bases) plus a HBP (w/full bases) 5-4 Yanx, bottom 8
  14. Yanx have had their share of baserunners (walks and singles) thru 4 but remain scoreless thanks to hitting into three inning-ending GiDPs including twice with bases-loaded. 4-0 Astros, bottom 4th
  15. NYY alternate O.D. starter Nestor Cortes opens their season with a 3 R / 35 pitch bottom of the 1st in Houston. So a little bit of sunshine in our rainy day.
  16. It's good that Tonkin has some sort of resolution, even if only temporarily.
  17. Shohei in the midst of his press conference now ... but I can't understand a damn word he's saying!!
  18. This is what mlb.com projects as the starting lineup. 1. Sal Frelick, CF 2. William Contreras, C 3. Christian Yelich, LF 4. Rhys Hoskins, 1B 5. Willy Adames, SS 6. Gary Sánchez, DH 7. Jackson Chourio, RF 8. Brice Turang, 2B 9. Joey Ortiz, 3B SP: RHP Freddy Peralta CL: RHP Trevor Megill Note the last name on that list as we may have dueling Megills late in the game on Thursday.
  19. And less than 72 hours prior to opening day, Jordan Montgomery remains unsigned. This astonishes me. I thought he'd be a super-hot property going into the winter.
  20. Familiar faces in different places: - Corbin Burnes … the CY winner in '21 (plus three other top tens) will be slinging it for Baltimore this year after an off season trade - Brandon Woodruff, the other co-ace in recent years will start this one on the IL where he'll likely miss the entire season - Lefty hurler Wade Miley has a short term injury but it'll be enough for him to miss this series - Devin Williams, the top notch RH reliever [1.53 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 38 Saves in '23] who went from setting up Josh Hader to later replacing him has a stress fracture in his back which will shelve him until June at a minimum New Faces: - Rhys Hoskins, phormer Phillie who blew out his knee in a non-contact play during [CROSSOUT]the WBC[/CROSSOUT] a spring training game a year ago signed with Milwaukee in the off-season and will presumably make the majority of starts at 1B - OF Jackson Chourio, MLB's #2 ranked prospect* will open the season with the big club just two weeks past his 20th birthday. And why not seeing as how he's already signed an eight-year contract prior even to his ML debut. * And also the #2 ranked Jackson but #1 prospect Jackson (son of Matt) Holliday will Not start the season with the Orioles

  22. Rarity = 54, more than 2/3 of it on Pujols cuz I couldn't think of anyone else. LAD/NYY - Todd Zeile (0.2%) NYY/GG - Teixeira (5%) NYY/100R+ - Rizzuto (2%) NYM/LA - Tommy Davis (0.4%) NYM/GG - Doug Flynn (1%) NYM/100R+ - Bernard Gilkey (1%) StL/LAD = Albert Pujols (37%) StL/GG - Ken Boyer (1%) StL/100R+ - Willie McGee (6%) I try to do these things too fast sometimes (often during lunch) so if I thought it out better I'd have saved Zeile for LAD/StL and had more choices for NYY/LAD. Maybe that would have come out as a wash in the end but it sucked being backed into a corner with little time and one guess remaining.
  23. Two players with alliterative names traded for each other. I like it.
  24. BB-Ref currently has JD's name in non-bold type as if he were already retired. Kind of a quick trigger there, eh? JD Martinez started with #14 before taking 28. Would have been kinda cool if he continued the progression and went with 56
  25. Lots of oddball selections one could have made in today's grid C/ASG - Carlos Delgado, Craig Biggio, Joe Torre, Dale Murphy ... all backstops early in their careers. C/MVP - both Torre and Murphy work here too 3B/ASG - Gary Carter (from that wild game v Cincy) 3B/MVP - Don Mattingly (the resumption of the Pine Tar game when Billy Martin put out a goofy lineup to protest that the protest was upheld) 3B/non-US - Ron Gardenhire (Germany) CF/non-US - Bobby Thomson (Scotland) CF/ASG - Howard Johnson And those were just the ones I knew ... which means most of you can probably come up with twice as many.
