  1. Off to sub-600 OPS this season (games thru Sat 4/11): Trea Turner (591), Ketel Marte, Geraldo Perdomo, Austin Riley, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Salvador Perez, Cal Raleigh, Byron Buxton, Jarren Duran, Pete Alonso, Dansby Swanson, Masyn Winn, Julio Rodriguez, Jake Croenworth, Jazz Chisholm, Bryson Stott, Alec Bohm, Vinnie Pasquentino, Michael Busch, Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, Josh Naylor (287) It's early folks.
  2. So a lineup of the same guys, only in a different order, would have squeezed a better result out of four singles and a walk?
  3. Am I correct in thinking that we do NOT currently have access to the CPF archives?
  4. And, as noted at the top of the broadcast, All-Mushtache All-Star infielder Phil Garner has passed on. He, like Lopes, is also a former manager and a member of the 200+ SB club.
  5. And Peralta winds up out-lasting Civale (by one out). That didn't look like it would be the case for much of this game but, in fairness to Freddy, a big chunk of his pitch load was from that one (2nd) inning.
  6. Thru 5 innings: Peralta = 88 pitches; Civale = 61 (or six innings worth vs a typical four innings)
  7. Nice work by Peralta to dance out of trouble ... but 45 pitches thru 2 is hardly ideal. It took him 101 just to get thru 4-2/3 in his last game.
  8. I've only caught a few scattered innings of the Yanx/Rays series in Tampa this weekend so it took me a while before it hit me that the Rays are back in Tropicana Field after spending all of 2025 at George M Steinbrenner filed on the Tampa side of the bay after a tropical storm damaged the structure and shredded the roof. And it looked like the roof was back in the brief glimpses I did get. Or maybe it's just a big Hefty bag they stretched over it temporarily.
  9. So Keith is saying that Kurtz's (hitting) methods are ... unsound.
  10. The topic being discussed was whether multiple coast-to-coast trips in a short span of time was a factor in an athletes performance. Bringing up the old saw about money for a kids game is hardly the point. Probably drunk, dead, or dead drunk. Maybe all three.
  11. Seems like an odd spot to make notice of Browning Nagle's death, but OK.
  12. The Mets four out of their first five road trips (one already done) this season will involve trips into the Pacific and/or Mountain time zones and none will have a day off leading into them. However each will be preceded by a day game leading into a night game so more of a buffer there, plus going east to west is the easier adjustment. There Will be a day off following each west coast swing since that's the tougher turn-around. I believe that one is mandated by the basic agreement.
  13. Ummm, perhaps we can introduce you to the other 4/12 IGT currently located about a Hal-dozen posts below this one.
  14. I've seen this commercial but have yet to hear it since I usually mute the TV sound between innings and when that ad is on there's certainly nothing on the screen that makes me want to hear what's being said. I can't say it looks like the MAGA-iest commercial ever but only because it's got a long way to go before even coming close to several for Dodge/RAM trucks.
  15. That's because, after the mutually agreed upon early scrapping of their previous contract which included Sunday Night Baseball, MLB and the four letter turned around to strike a new agreement to become streaming partners. Now customers who may be casual fans of baseball but not enough of one to subscribe to MLB.TV can stream games through any Disney package which includes ESPN+. This gives MLB & ESPN incentive to cross-promote on the streaming end while still leaving ESPN free to (mostly)* ignore baseball on their main channel. * ESPN will still run the occasional game over their regular cable channel including this Wednesday's (Jackie Robinson Day) NYM/LAD matchup
  16. Since Kimbrel is a likely future HoF'er and has now appeared in a NYM uniform, how soon until they retire his number?
  17. Freddie Peralta [3 G; 1-0; 4.80; 1.13 WHIP] faces (RH)Aaron Civale [2 G; 1-0; 2.70; 1.10 WHIP]
  18. Met bats in the 9th inning off Medina were not a bit funky but they were cold.
  19. Never seen it.
  20. Now we just have to hope that Craig Kimbrel isn't meat.
  21. Dom Smith: .357/.400/.571 w/2 HRs & 8 RBI OK so it's just 30 PA (29 vs RHPs), but that also means that in 30 PA he's got more HRs than Lindor, Bichette, Soto, and Polanco combined and as many or more than every Met individually except for Alvarez (3)
  22. Oh well, we weren't coming back from 1-0 down anyway.
  23. Send Benge before someone gets a chance to hit into a GiDP
  24. "Hamstring tightness" for Holmes. Hell, my hamstrings have been tight since the Carter administration.
