  1. Met fans who endlessly complain that the Mets give them agita give me agita.
  2. And sometimes even the easy ones are hard.
  3. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit guzzling vodka straight out of the bottle.
  4. Edgy MD wrote: LeMahieu and Torres should be pulled for lack of hustle. Yes, but I'm not sure there's anyone left on the Yanqui bench. But it'll get better when Stanton rejoins the team ... oh wait!
  5. Gleybar Torres barely jogs to 1st ... LeMahieu swipes at a grounder. 'Boonie' really has his team playing hard.
  6. Oh well, we still have an outside chance at winning this game.
  7. That was some nice closing speed by Master Bader
  8. Peterson wasn't going much past five even before the HR and b-t-b BBs ... but it still would have been nice to see.
  9. There's been a lot going on (not to mention nearly an hour and a half) for just four innings.
  10. The kid stays in the picture.
  11. Shutout thru four ... but 84 pitches to get there, or about 5-1/2 inning's worth of chucking.
  12. Bader backpedaling is a very soothing sight, something you can't say about most outfielders.
  13. Piazza is telling him, 'I've had sillier AND blonder hair than that shit on your head dude!'
  14. [flawedlogic]But if they had held Pete then Vientos would have just hit a Grand Slam!!!![/flawedlogic]

  16. Cole faced six batters that inning and retired one of them.
  17. They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue. They lead off with a single, you lead off with a double.
  18. Eh, bases-loaded, none out, failing to score ... I've seen that from NYC baseball clubs often. But while I can't quite put my finger on it, there was something different about this one.
  19. And to no one's surprise (certainly not mine) Edwin Diaz will Not appeal his suspension for goopiness and will begin serving his 10 game suspension now. And remember that it is a ten Game suspension, not ten days.
  20. 72 for me, nearly half of it on Kirk Gibson LAA/LAD Don Sutton LAA2000K Frank Tanana LAA/10W Chuck Finley ATL/LAD Dusty Baker ATL/2000K Phil Niekro ATL/10W Steve Avery DET/LAD Kirk Gibson DET/2000K Jim Bunning DET/10W Virgil Trucks
  21. That was Joe Niekro and the nail file out of his back pocket.
  22. He can appeal but there's scant hope of winning even a reduction much less a reversal.
  23. As mentioned by the TV crew last night, the umps check incoming closers before the inning starts because the game is generally on the line. Bottom line is they didn't, and are not going to, check him based on the insistence of the opposing backup catcher or his team.
  24. Tying run still not at the plate so it would be smart to not let Wisdom reach. And they don't!!!!
  25. One pitch, one out. So far so good.
