  1. Yeah, I fixed it. That was a typo not a mis-heard lyric.
  2. Anyone who went to bed early missed not only a good game but a funny IGT. 'Golf Clap' for Dickshot's "Windy" parodies
  3. Nady's up, meaning we had a 'Bugs Bunny Bat-Around' this inning!!
  4. Or we could use a variation on the old joke and say that that HR would have been out of any park in California ... including Yosemite!!!
  5. That was one MAJOR LEAGUE shot!
  6. Didn't matter who was covering, Chavez had that thing beat by 15 ft. <---- Hey check it out, I'm the NJ Nets coach's evil twin! (Lawrence Frank vs Frank Lary)
  7. BiFW!!! Effin' Perfect!

  9. ]... nice one FK Sheeeeet, that one was so easy I can only assume it was a set-up. ]at least Andy can bunt Actually, he's failed a few times at that already this season. Old Man River finds the only easy spot to HR to RF at that park.
  10. ]That Ben Johnson runs fast Still on the 'roids probably.
  11. That may happen yet (sending to Norfolk) although I don't know if there are any obstacles preventing that. If there's a risk that they'd lose him trying I don't think they'll chance it ... not yet anyway. Julio's had some rocky stats lately but is neither old nor untalented at this point in his career. The Trax comparison was merely to point out that at least as many fans were calling for his immediate dismissal (or was it summary execution?) early-on in his NYM tenure as if it was a no-doubt addition by subtraction move. P.S. It would have sucked if we had dumped Robo Hernandez if he started off w/2 or 3 bad innings last year and he had a lot less (potentially) going for him a year ago than Julio does now.
  12. How was Steve Trachsel in his first half-year as a Met? Point is, they're not going to throw away Jorge Julio after just 4 innings as if it's proved anything.
  13. Both have also had success on the big league level, something yong Mr. Hernandez has yet to show. And look, I'm not becoming the president of the fan club for either Julio or Valentin but they're also filling very different roles here. One's a PH off the bench and our only (even potential) lefty power threat (he does have 500+ Xtra-base hits to his credit) while the other is no better than the 4th pen option. The snag w/Hernandez is he was filling a regular spot in the lineup with VERY sub-standard offense.
  14. At the rate Reyes has been getting on base lately ... Less than Zero.
  15. So AndyHandy hasn't had enough time yet but Valentin's already proved he's worthless? P.S.: Ditto Julio
  16. But Varitek pops out with the sacks drunk representing the tie-ing run and the DevilDogs win
  17. He's really made a habit out of kicking the stuffings out of Boston. He left with a 2-1 lead ... TB built it to a 5-1 lead ... and now the Sawx are threatening to take it all back in the 9th
  18. - I heard earlier today that Cameron is aiming to be back in Sandy Eggo by Saturday. He's with the Pads' A+ team in 'Lake Elsinore' tonight. - Every time I see Khalil Greene I think he's terrific. Main problem is that he's often hurt.
  19. Also, a recent piece on him from Baseball America is in the Binghamton Mets thread
  20. I actually saw Wiggy on the highlight films last night. He was playing out in LF ... a ball was hit right to him ... he dropped it.
  21. ="MFS62"]So, can we conclude that his performance can be traced to a severe case of Jeff Weaver Syndrome? The symptoms include good stuff, and an ability to pitch well elsewhere. The only known potential cure (not always successful) is a trade away from New York. I don't buy any of that. First of all, it's not like Zambrano (or Weaver for that matter) are/were great on the road while only lousy at home. And while I suspect the oft-used stereotype of someone who's a good player but just not a good New York player probably exists but it does so to a much lesser extent than is generally portrayed. Slapping that label on a player with a derisive growl of; 'yeah that shit may play in Peoria hayseed but dis is da Big Apple', is usually done by NY-ers in order to make themselves feel superior by bragging about how much higher the standards are here. With Weaver the NYY brass did just that as a way of immunizing themselves from the decision that they themselves made. When they got him they were sure they bagged an up-and-coming pitcher right on the cusp of a breakout - and were only too proud to say so - but they were wrong. By deriding him simply as someone who couldn't play Broadway was their attempt to say that they still made the correct call just simply had no way of knowing ntil it was too late how his act would play on the big stage. It just wasn't their fault can't you see? They did the same with Vazquez. Zambrano's problem is that he hasn't been good enough/often enough to justify either the trade that brought him here or the faith that the front office apparantly still has in him. Maybe he'll get out of it and prove them all correct but I highly doubt it's simply a NYC thing at this point.
  22. Castro also had the hit that broke up a perfect game.
  23. Glavine - 4.5 Castro - 0.8 Woodward - 1.0 Reyes - 0.7 Heilman - 0.8
  24. I guess the big news here is that Pujols did NOT hit a HR. Yanx leading the Jays 3-1 in the 8th. Mussina & Lilly started. Alex (he never comes thru when you need it) broke a scoreless tie with a HR. The Yanx later had a run taken away and then one added due to bad calls.
  25. Yes, 15 days is the minimum so he's lost for another 11 days even with the retroactive thing. NOW Reyes gets a hit!!!!!
