  1. Like the final game v Philly, they need to get through the 7th and 8th clean in order to Not see the top of the order again in this game.
  2. Give them three tries at turning a DP and they'll get it right eventually.
  3. Winker, Taylor, Vientos, (Dodgers) Cry Sorry, it's the best I could come up with.
  4. Both outs were hit hard as well. Of course that all matters less when you'll see a new pitcher every inning.
  5. =ashie62 post_id=175704 time=1728931931 user_id=90] I believe Landon Knack is expected to get some work for LA today
  6. Lefty Specialist wrote: Just flush it and come out firing tomorrow. Exactly. These things happen. Get it tomorrow and things are back on track. I'll take this type of Game One loss over the WS 2000 G1 type with its multiple physical and mental fuck-ups culminating with a 12th inning walk-off single type of gut-punch.
  7. So this 'RESCUE: High Surf' show that FOX is pimping ... My guess is that these Oahu-North Shore life guards are going to save the lives of two to three per episode while the real ones get maybe one or two per month at most.
  8. Edgy MD wrote: Pete needs to get his head into something close to the game. That throw to 2nd with a runner potentially impeding the throw is Pete's biggest weakness as a fielder.
  9. LET'S GO ... to bed and hope they get 'em tomorrow
  10. Vientos gets screwed on Strike Two ... but that's not an excuse for chasing after Strike Three
  11. Ad for MLB Apparel: You can wear the same gear as the players are wearing this post-season Really, you mean I can also pretend my last name is Strauss?
  12. The one thing you wanted to do tonight was get into the Dodger pen early on as tomorrow is probably a bullpen game for them anyway. Instead, it's looking like we might not get into it at all.
  13. =metirish post_id=175577 time=1728868751 user_id=72] As an aside, would Arod ever grow the fuck up and stop calling Jeter Captain, it's embarrassing
  14. FOX showing that no bad ideas in televised sports (shrunken screens so as to show people talking during live action) goes upcopied.
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Definitely Cleveland. There's no way I can root for the Yankees to win yet another pennant. Yeah, that's where I'm at as well. So, as nice as it would be to meet them and beat them, the consequences if NOT succeeding in that plus the concept of rooting for their success just to get there are ideas I don't want to entertain.
  16. In order of record: LAD 98-64 NYY 94-68 CLE 92-69 (161 games played) NYM 89-73 Record after May 31st: NYM 65-40 LAD 62-41 NYY 54-49 CLE 54-50 Improvement over 2023: CLE +16 wins NYM +14 NYY +12 LAD -2 That the teams with the biggest Improvements are the ones being led by rookie managers (Stephen Vogt - CLE) is both interesting and perhaps not totally surprising as teams with good records don't usually replace their skippers.
  17. This one will maybe be not so cut 'n dried as most questions regarding the MFYs Would you rather see them advance to the WS and a potential 2000 rematch or not? Upside to the Yanx winning: - there's only one: Mets also win making a subsequent WS win the best of all possible wins Upside to Cleveland winning: - it kicks the Yanx streak of not even making it to a WS (y'know, that thing the team and fans alike treat as a birthright) up to 15, tying the stretch from '81 to '96 and before that the longest since Babe Ruth was an actual babe - it obviously gives the Yanx a shot at winning it all no matter who their NL opponent is - and of course, the biggie: it gives them a shot at winning the WS through us which would be ... oh I don't even have to tell you
  18. =Gwreck post_id=175424 time=1728740023 user_id=56] The both-LCS-finish at 5 games or under is a pretty rare occurrence, however.
  19. A new twist thus year is that the start of the WS will be moved up if both LCS series end in five games or fewer. As is, the WS is scheduled to begin on Friday Oct 25. But rather than have a long lay-off should the LCS series both end quickly, Game 1 will be bumped up to Tuesday the 22nd with the same 2-3-2 format to follow. The schedule for LCS Game Fives, barring weather delays, is, NL: Fri Oct 18, and AL: Sat 19th
  20. NY, NY, LA and ?? [DET or CLE] Well the networks are going to be happy anyway. Pads get shut out in their final 18 innings.
