  1. I saw that too. Just for kicks I looked up the 'Runs Created' stat for the AL this year to see that Jeter finished 12th. The good thing is that nobody cares about that award to the point where MLB probably did more harm to Aaron than good by concocting it in the first place.
  2. And now Posada needs a mound conference for Marte's third fucking pitch!!
  3. This suxxx. The Phils hit three ropes and have one run to show for it. Yanx, meanwhile, score twice on a walk and 3 dinky pieces of shit. Also six HRs for Philly this series -- all of them solos. I know that's just baseball and there's nothing that can be done about it but I have no intention of being rational at this point.
  4. There are politicians up for election this week who haven't done as much lobbying over the past month as Posada has just tonight -- in both halves of the innings too.
  5. Will the person who ordered the bushel of cheap hits please report to CBP to pick up your order. But Blanton really has only himself to blame with that leadoff 4-pitch walk to Swisher
  6. And then Howard scampers home on a line-drive single. Even on Damon's arm that was hardly a given.
  7. I was just about to say how disappointing it's been that the Phils haven't been running - and then Howard of all people steals a base. I thought [u:mhpcadzp]not[/u:mhpcadzp] starting the runners when Rollins & Victorino were on the other night against Rivera and Utley at the plate with a 3-2 count was Manuel's biggest mistake of the series so far. Utley then GiDP'd on the next pitch.
  8. The original story carried a photo complete with cracks. Not that it matters anyway. I'm sure Levine doesn't even believe most of the shit he throws out there for public consumption. He's just the paid pit-bull for the Steingrabber family whose main feature is to trumpet how great the yanqui franchise is while whining how anything negative said about them is nothing more than the jealous sniping of those not fortunate enough to be wearing pinstripes.
  9. I wonder if someone has kept records for most mound conferences in one series - because whatever it was I'm sure the Yanx have broken it already. Between visits from Girardi, the path worn out from the plate by both Posada and (especially) Molina, plus the endless pilgrimages from Jeter they gotta be averaging at least three per inning.
  10. Yanqui President (and full-time asshole) Randy Levine claims that the report about the cracks in the YS concrete (link in first post) is nothing more than a smear campaign by the NY Times based on them being an owner (a very minority one) of the Boston Red Sox.
  11. Do you think FOX - whose demand for extra off-days has stretched the WS past Halloween - sees (or even notices) the irony of their still-running ad campaign which proclaims: 'You Can't Script October' ?
  12. What a revolting turn of events!
  13. - So, essentially, TV is both the cause and solution to the questionable HR. - As much as the result sucked, if that's me team and I don't get the call I'd be pretty pissed. - So since everyone seems to know that ARod's playoff hitting this year was a result of his "head being in a better place" and that he's "so much more relaxed" now and maybe even attributable to Kate Hudson, how do we now explain the errors, the strikeouts, and (until just then) the hitless WS? The 'effect then cause' reasoning of so many in the press is as fallible as it is predictable.
  14. Game 3 in rain delay --- so if they get started late tonight on account of the rain to the point where they're still playing when it reaches the time when the clocks get turned back, do they then have to go back and re-play the previous three innings?
  15. Ralph Houk -- still living, just turned 90. Haven't seen or heard from him in years; I suspect that means either that he's been ill or maybe it's because he represents those Yanqui years that they don't like to talk about so the club never invites him anywhere.
  16. Mora leaves the Orioles having played more games for them at 3rd base than anyone not named Brooks Robinson. I wouldn't have guessed that one.
  17. I think that may have been the Phils' last best chance
  18. Red Schoendinst - StL Cards - '46 + '67 & '68
  19. Bruce Bochy - SDP '84 & '98
