  1. I think we just won it but I'm not totally sure yet.
  2. Ah yes, the old 'retire the all-star but walk the chumps' strategy.
  3. Nice that the pr assignment in the last inning got Posey out of the game.
  4. Tejada's another one who's had a tough night.
  5. I'll give Bay this, he's a good base runner. I was screaming 'Stay at 2nd!' on Baxter's hit. oe - and that base just created a run Now we just need 3 or 4 more to make this Acosta-proof
  6. Jason Bay = on-base machine tonight!
  7. Thank god Hairston showed up tonight. Lord knows that the rest of the middle of the lineup hasn't. We're back to having a Hairy good time again.
  8. Y'know, it's bad enough to cling to strict notions about who has to pitch the 8th inning and who has to pitch the 9th - but it's even worse to reserve the 9th inning for someone who has never shown the slightest hint of earning that kind of respect. And then to just hand it to him following a 7-pitch 1-2-3 8th inning where no PH was needed ...
  9. And yet another infield hit that could have been turned but wasn't.
  10. This has to be the un-clutch-est defense I've ever seen. All year they've been doing this shit.
  11. Parnell in July - 10 IP, 4 runs on 16 baserunners Rauch in July - 7.2 IP, 1 run on 5 baserunners So it's not even like we're sticking with the hot hand here
  12. Eh, it's not like Parnell is going to put the leadoff hitter on in front of the one guy on this team with power or anything. Oh wait.
  13. Good thing we didn't leave Rauch in there. We might have to suffer through another 8 pitch 1-2-3 inning or something.
  14. Ooooh, a nice quick one from the Rauch monster.
  15. And just think of how much easier that inning could have gone had not every hitter (or most of them anyway) not started their AB in an 0-2 hole
  16. Not that the Mets aren't digging their own graves here - but geez the Giants are getting a bunch of piece o' shit hits tonight.
  17. We can't turn double-plays but we're really good at hitting into them
  18. I forgot to put Penny on my KTE He'd be on the Olympic Asshole team. In fact he'd be the captain.
  19. Cubs catcher Geovany Soto - once the 2008 NL rookie of the year but not much since - goes to the Rangers for a minor league arm.
  20. And now the fuck-up leads to multiple runs - and we're still not out of this yet.
  21. So how many failed GiDPs that led directly to a run is that this season? My estimate is somewhere around 87 And with Huff limping right out of the box they had all day to turn that one.

Keith giving it to Ike on SNY broadcast for not getting the double play. That's the second one of those in the last week or so where Ike had the chance to go 3-6-3 but didn't try. This one was worse in that if you fail to turn it's just one run in the 4th inning. Last time it would have meant the game so more caution was required.
  23. He's been bounced around in his last two starts so a good start would be nice to see regardless of whether a promotion follows. It wouldn't be the first time a team bumped up someone while in the midst of a mini-slump though. Sometimes the thinking is that they need a new challenge.
