  1. Suarez was hit on the hand by a pitch in the 9th inning of today's game in Detroit - thus causing at least half the teams in MLB to hold their breath and/or change their plans. But X-rays were negative, so 'Day to Day'
  2. Ryne Sandberg - 65 He had dealt with cancer off and on in recent years.
  3. THAT call was just fucking ridiculous!
  4. The Mets respond by going out 1-2-3 on 11 pitches.
  5. This reminds me of the candy commercial (Snickers?) from a few years back: 'Not going anywhere for a while?' (2+ hours / 5 innings) I think I got one more inning in me.
  6. Gibbons looks like he's either in pre-knee replacement or just post-knee replacement.
  7. The Yanx' schedule for the upcoming week: - home to a Florida team (TBR) - at a Florida team (MIA) - at a Texas team (TEX) - home to a Texas team (HOU) It seems like that series of games could have been in a more efficient manner.
  8. They weren't playing Tatis tall enough.
  9. Lindor is definitely declining. He can't even get infield doubles anymore!
  10. Just what I was hoping for from a west coast weekday night game: 1-1/2 hours just to get through 3-1/2 innings!
  11. Nice work to get out of things, but yet another case of a high pitch count early in the game (46 thru 2)
  12. The big series to start the week is the Cubs in Milwaukee for three games as the two began the night tied for 1st in the NL Central Cubs jumped on Les Mis(iorowski) for 3 in the 1st but the Brewers scored 8 of the next 9 runs so 8-4 is your final.
  13. The week gets off to a good start with the Yanx (to TB) and Phils (the ChiSox!!!) post losses within minutes of each other.
  14. Nice 1st to 3rd by McNeil. I wasn't so sure that was a good idea as it was unfolding oe: and it quickly pays dividends.
  15. =Centerfield post_id=199332 time=1753671501 user_id=65] I have a tough time understanding this one. Why bother?
  16. But none of them when it Really mattered .... or so I heard somewheres
  17. KCR reaches an extension agreement with Seth Lugo so he's not going to be available at the deadline.
  18. You folks didn't have any doubt, did you?
  19. =Gwreck post_id=199312 time=1753668489 user_id=56] Who, though?
  20. ESPN won't mention it so I will: that's now Six walks on the game ... and now tack on a HBP
  21. Acuna running for Mauricio?!? Not that he's not (probably) faster, but I'd think you'd save that card for someone else.
  22. Don't use Hjelle if you're allergic to Hjelle
  23. Sentences you thought you'd never hear: 'And the'll be an infield hit for Wilmer Flores!'
  24. Cal Raleigh is the 7th catcher with 40 or more HRs (with two months to go!) although 8 of his 40 have come while batting as the DH. Roy Campanella - 1953 (41) Johnny Bench - 45 (1970) 40 (1972) Todd Hundley (41) 1996 Mike Piazza - 40 (1997) 40 (1998) Javy Lopez (43) 2003 Salvatore Perez (48) 2021 -- 15 of his 48 were hit as a DH Also, not only does Cal Raleigh join the 'All State Capitals' team but, being a North Carolina native, his name is the same as his Own state capital. Can Daryl Boston (b. Cincinnati, OH) say that? I don't think so!
  25. NYM Splash-Down hits (6) in SF: Cliff Floyd; Carlos Delgado x2; Curtis Granderson x2; Ronny Mauricio
