    Various Sunday afternoon games have been shifted, likely in anticipation of the successor to the Cock for the Sunday contract. The Mets game against the Marlins on August 18 is now at 12:05. Rumors have the Cock's package being moved to the Roku Channel. Really.

    From August 2 to September 1, the Mets will play 29 games in 31 days with only 9 home games. There will be two west coast trips, they will play in 3 different time zones for 3 consecutive days (August 4 to 6) and none of the road games will be in the eastern time zone (we'll be tired, too!) According to The Athletic, the August schedule (even before the STL addition) results from having an easier road schedule around the London trip.

    Wendle should make decisions like George Constanza-- do the complete opposite of everything he would normally do.

    I keep thinking about the C standing on the plate waiting for the ball which is contrary to the rule. MLB said that the "trajectory" put him there but that's wrong. The fielder threw the ball to where the C was standing, not the opposite. There is supposed to be a "lane" for the runner (and the C patted himself on the back for providing one) but it wasn't a lane it was a sliver. The Mets got screwed (you can argue that they put themselves in a position where one call could decide the game but the call was still wrong).

    Carlos sticking to his opinion in the press conference and not saying "oh well, it's one play" raises my opinion of him.

    I went to a game this spring in West Palm Beach and a guy standing next to me yelled "Shorty". Zack Short looked up and they chatted. After Short returned to the field the guy's father said they were teammates at Sacred Heart.
