  1. METS: Reyes-SS Pagan-CF Wright-3B Davis-1B Bay-LF Francoeur-RF Barajas-C Tejada-2B Santana-LHP =#FF0000]Reds: Phillips 4 Cabrera 6 Votto 3 Rolen 5 Bruce 9 Gomes 7 Stubbs 8 Miller 2 Matt Maloney 1
  2. Pelfrey stunk, the Mets stopped hitting, but F those umps--they get should get the Reds game ball. Two awful calls in one inning--that's one above their quota for the entire game.
  3. Jauss was going to bat a righty but wanted to suck-up to the boss by managing even dumber than he could.
  4. Miller looks like the bad guy in a western.
  5. Excellent point Zvon.
  6. Since I ripped Cora last Thursday, he has 2 triples and a double. Obviously, he read it and it motivated him. You're welcome.
  7. Pelfrey might need to see his sports psychologist after that inning. That doesn't excuse the umps. Awful job by them. Why can't they just do their jobs right?
  8. MLB should have a 7-day DL but the owners are too cheap because they'd be forced to add players more often. Meanwhile, who is the back-up MI if Reyes can't play? The bench tonight is Barajas, Blanco, Feliciano, Carter, Reyes.
  9. Who will PH for Carter when Carter PH's for the pitcher and then a lefty pitcher is brought in to face Carter? That's Tatis' role!
  10. It should be Leslie Nielsen, umpire of the famous Angels-Mariners game when there was an assassination attempt on the Queen.
  11. Howie with a good point: Jerry used Feliciano again. Meanwhile, Nieve hasn't pitched in a week. If you can't trust him with a 6 run lead, then why is he on the team?
  12. So long as Jeter is celebrated, then all is right with the world.
  13. A great question, LWFS. That's 3 days in a row we've had to watch this nonsense. Each time, Riggelman lost a reliever and Jerry lost a PH and the result was still a lefty/righty--righty/lefty matchup. Riggleman had to have known what Jerry would do (since they both micro-manage) so unless he wanted to take out his reliever, it was a pointless attempt to get a better matchup.
  14. Pelfrey doesn't even make the fan vote nominees. 5 Braves made it.
  15. Congrats, D-Wright: AdamRubinESPN David Wright is starting NL third baseman for All-Star Game Reyes is a reserve.
  16. Jose's 5th game out and that means for the last 5 games, your back-up MI has been Fernando Tatis.
  17. METS: Pagan-CF Cora-2B Wright-3B Davis-1B Bay-LF Francoeur-RF Barajas-C Tejada-SS Takahashi-LHP Nationals: Morgan 8 Guzman 4 Zimmerman 5 Dunn 3 Willingham 7 Morse 9 Gonzalez 6 Nieves 2 Stammen 1
  18. Great paragraph by metgrrl today, summing up what it feels like to go to a road game and watch the Mets lose. Even though I live in DC, I'm rooting for the road team so these are road games for us: The road losses are the worst. They are the worst because you head to the game in such high spirits, you are far from home (even if youre just in the Bronx), you are decked out to represent, you cannot hide, you are not there to hide. You have to take your knocks while still fervently wishing you could find a rock to crawl under and hide. You deal with feeble taunting or outright inaccurate statements or even completely correct assertions and you are usually on your own with no support. And then you have the entire trip home (or evening in the hotel) to ruminate on the loss you just spent time and money to experience. 19. For the record, I publicly apologize to Cora. After the Thursday loss, I said that Cora doesn't belong on the team. He can stay. I am sorry. On the post game report, Jerry sounded more upset w/Ike than with Rodriguez. After the Thursday loss, I said that Jerry was an idiot. I am sorry... that he's an idiot.
  20. batmagadanleadoff wrote: If the Times is predicting Wright and Pelfrey as the only Mets, then why is Jose Reyes on that list? Oops.
  21. The rosters for this year's ASG will be announced on Sunday. [u:nv893s1x]The Times[/u:nv893s1x] predicts three Mets--Wright, Reyes and Pelfrey.
