  1. Jose! Good job by the official scorer!
  2. Parnell stinks. Should have brought in Shorty. (Braun walked.)

  4. Two more years of bunting.
  5. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. There's no ending, just a possible moment of realization for Beane, and the parts with the daughter were superfluous and only served to make the movie a half-hour too long.
  6. With two games left, it's down to MFS62, Transmonk, Vic Sage for the prediction of the Mets record and one person is going to get it exactly right. 7. He'll have next year and then after they finish 4th or last, Sandy will thank him, give him a title, and bring in a new guy that can "take the team to the next level."

  9. Well said all. He's a dope and has helped the Mets earn their 4th place finish.
  10. I have complete confidence that Sandy Alderson and Jonah Hill will be able to find a better use for a roster spot than Mike Pelfrey.
  11. Vic Sage makes a good point about him being under "control" and it being a question of finding a better option. I can't imagine many worse options and don't want any more time wasted on him. No matter how they get rid of him, so long as they do will be fine with me.
  12. "Bloodlust"? What has he done to jusitfy a spot on the Mets roster in '12?
  13. Terry Collins said he may have put too much of a burden on Pelfrey by naming him the Opening Day starter. Pelfrey finished with the highest ERA by a Mets Opening Day starter since Pete Harnisch in 1997 at 7.03 ERA, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. "I'll take full responsibility if I put the heavy load on his shoulders by naming him the Opening Day starter," Collins said. What a crock. Collins is politely making excuses for him but yesterday should have been his last appearance in a Mets uniform. Pelfrey doesn't have the brains and the stones to be a successful major league pitcher.
  14. Mets go for the sweep!
  15. Keep it going, guys!
  16. Day nighter. I'll take the first game and I bestow my power of attorney to G-Fafif for the night-cap.
  17. Good one LWFS.
  18. Are you kidding me?
  19. Pagan shows us again that he's a dope by swinging at the first pitch after the pitcher walked two in a row and 3 in the inning.
  20. Howie is talking about how Cardinals fans are "condescending" toward New York for allegedly ignoring St. Louis. Another reason to love Howie. Howie says that the fans in St. Louis don't have the passion that east coast fans have so they don't get criticized or cheered the same way. He says that there's "no soul" there.

  22. Capuano is not under contract beyond next week so why not get something for nothing? Perhaps Sandy is planning on resigning Capuano and doesn't want him to possibly fall in love with Boston (which is doubtful since it's only for a week and they're on the road).
  23. Source: Sox made play for Mets Capuano Their wild card lead evaporating, the Red Sox are on the hunt for reinforcements, even if only for a game, in an attempt to make the playoffs. According to a source with knowledge of the talks, the Red Sox have spent the better part of a week trying to pry left-handed starter and West Springfield native Chris Capuano from the New York Mets for cash in order to start on Sunday at Yankee Stadium. However, it appears the Mets will keep Capuano, who is 11-12 with a 4.47 ERA. Capuano is playing on a one-year, $1.5 million contract. Capuano would not be eligible for the postseason with the Red Sox, but hed be able to help them over the final week of the regular season as they struggle to get quality starts out of a rotation thats as big a culprit as any for the teams 5-16 slide in September. Capuano, a Cathedral grad, was an All-Star with the Brewers in 2006 before undergoing a pair of Tommy John surgeries on his elbow, which sidelined him for the entire 2008 and 2009 seasons. He has returned this year to strike out 155 in 175.1 inning and would have given the team a boost in the series finale at New York, particularly since the Yankees hitters are unfamiliar with him and would have little opportunity to advance scout him. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/index.php/2011/09/22/source-sox-made-play-for-mets-capuano/
