  1. Igarashi clears waivers says Rubin.
  2. Prosecutors wont file charges against Dykstra Published: January 12, 2011 12:21 PM By The Associated Press Prosecutors in Los Angeles have declined to file criminal charges against retired center fielder Lenny Dykstra after his housekeeper accused him of sexual assault. Court documents filed last week indicate an apparent lack of evidence that the 41-year-old woman was forced to give Dykstra oral sex on Saturdays as she claims. Prosecutors say the woman, who worked for Dykstra for several weeks, didnt report the accusations until after he failed to pay her $2,000 he owed her. The woman told investigators that she complied with Dykstra because she didnt want to lose her job. Dykstra denied the allegations in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, claiming the woman attempted extortion to purchase drugs.
  3. Willie Harris Could this have been any more under the radar?
  4. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Good versatility and skills but not much of a stick and I wouldn't have guessed he'd be 33 years old this year. . He's not called the black Joe McEwing for nothing I was just thinking looking through the roster thread a few minutes ago how un-African American the roster is shaping up to be .

  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Heyman via twitter has proclaimed this the best bullpen in the majors.....in the middle of January no less..... I mean who here can't be reminded of the unstoppable-on-paper combination that was going to turn every game the Mets played into a 7 inning lockdown? What folly to even think it's possible. The best thing the MFYs did here was give themselves an experienced backup for a 40-something closer, but half the closers in the league theoretically come on the market every July. They're idiots,. and here's hoping they get exactly what they deserve. Soriano by the way was known to be a douchebag who didn't get along with Maddon. had problems with Cox too right? His career numbers leave a lot to be desired, this deal is nuts. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/soriara01.shtml
  8. From UMDB A single mother, with dreams of becoming a writer, has a son at the age of 15 in 1965, and goes through a failed marriage with the drug-addicted father. Gotta say I enjoyed this more than I would have thought. There is something about flashback movies to the 60's/70's.... A very solid cast and Steve Zahn I thought was great as the loser husband and father, so good that he makes Ray a loser that you are constantly rooting for....Barrymore in a good role here too.....a little on the sentimental side but it would be hard not to be. As an aside.......there are scenes shot in City Island that are meant to be somewhere in CT......at least I think so anyway....
  9. Jeff Francis took a low deal just to play with Francoeur.
  10. Edgy DC wrote: And yet, we have "Joe" Pignatano and "Al" Walker. If you're going to get silly with formal names, why stop at "L. Nolan Ryan"? Why not swing for the fences with "Lynn"? They swung for the fences with Cal Koonce and went with Kalvin Koonce.....

  12. I guess he can get away with such nonsense because he's Ed freaking Kranepool. I like how on the record Ken Boswell is Kenneth Boswell.....in fact all the players names are in their given form.....who the fuck is Gerald Grote, I bet only his momma called him that.
  13. New York Giants historical society. Greg is a member IIRC. I think it's really cool they are bringing it here.

  21. Ceetar wrote: I'm expecting a really solid year out of him. Production wise, closer to 25 home runs and 110 RBI (assuming he's batting 6th with a TON of opportunity) In fact, due to the circumstances of being able to drive in Bay, Wright and Beltran, all of who will be on base a lot, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a radio host use the words MVP in describing his season so far. He won't actually receive any real MVP votes, but.. I think he gets his average closer to .300, mainly but cutting down on some of the strike outs. .288/.355/.477 slash line. Sounds like you're enjoying your home brew Ceetar
  22. You know what's great though , all these guys will be spending the spring together and getting to know each other and then reporting to minor league camp when the real stuff starts for the players heading north.
  23. AZ House Senate unanimously passes legislation stopping Westbro church from protesting at Christina Green's funeral. Governor Brewer expected to sign it. Those vile bastards will probably challenge it.
  24. He may as well have a tattoo that says "I'm an under .500 pitcher"....nothing wrong with that btw....earned $4,215,000 , heck of a pay cut to fit in with Sandy. Trachseling mediocrity is a beautiful term btw.
  25. It would be informative to know his style/routine in the minors , will he have the cache to run it as he sees it?
