  1. I hope the Front Office feels the same way as this board, a lot of changes needed.
  2. Reyes? can you see?

Plus, you pitching coach would need an interpreter. ("You're feeling 'chuffed?' So... I should warm up the lefty, then?") Pete Flynn, sounds the same as the day he came from Leitrim in 1962.
  4. What I'd give to be a below average shite pitcher like some of that lot above, why yes, I'll gladly take $9 mills to be shite for you.

Ian O'Connor , can't imagine you would spend time with his though T'J' Quinn......may have been gone by the time Omar got there I can only imagine what a conversation with Ian O'Connor would be like....we'd be brawling within moment. I was at an education writer's conference, if that's a clue. Ha, the guy from the Times.

He said his gut feeling was that some team was going to offer Reyes stupid money that that Mets would not match. He said Alderson is "too smart" to throw crazy money at a player who is so prone to injuries. That was just his gut feeling from knowing the people involved. I tried to avoid pestering him with too many Mets questions, but he did say that Dickey was as nice a guy as you can imagine. Piazza, too. Ok, who was it?, who's your source deep throat? What does being a hard worker mean anyway? Just my perception from what I hear him say and reported. He seems to have a good worth ethic, puts in his time, tries new pitches, etc. Certainly no good way of knowing the truth. There are surely signs the other way too, but I doubt there are very many 'lazy' baseball players. Yeah, if he were 20-5 I'd think he's a great worker I suppose, perception can be a bitch with a team like this.

  9. bmfc1 wrote: Terry Collins said he may have put too much of a burden on Pelfrey by naming him the Opening Day starter. Pelfrey finished with the highest ERA by a Mets Opening Day starter since Pete Harnisch in 1997 at 7.03 ERA, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. "I'll take full responsibility if I put the heavy load on his shoulders by naming him the Opening Day starter," Collins said. What a crock. Collins is politely making excuses for him but yesterday should have been his last appearance in a Mets uniform. Pelfrey doesn't have the brains and the stones to be a successful major league pitcher. yeah really, opening day starter means shite after that start , what a load of bollox.
  10. Does TCM ruin their movies with loads of commercials?
  11. I thought it was clear he has no idea who Wagner was? My feelings are that I am tired of the ad by now.
  12. I did and found this lovely little thing
  13. I'll handle the money
  14. "I guess it just comes with the territory," Martin said. "When you wear the pinstripes, you just kind of learn to be that way." very true , when you wear the pinstripes you do become that way , a total fucking wanker that is. God, so obnoxious.
  15. Apparently he's 29 and not 28 , not a huge deal there. Juan Carlos Oviedo is a better name anyway.
  16. Without looking up the numbers like 86(great work) I would say in my time watching the Mets the staffs of years 2001/02 and 03 were not so good?

  18. Bloody hell, baseball eh?
  19. bmfc1 wrote: Howie is talking about how Cardinals fans are "condescending" toward New York for allegedly ignoring St. Louis. Another reason to love Howie. Well, I guess things in St.Louis are going great if this is the kind of utter shite that worries them. Memo to St.Louis , we're NY and we don't give a shit about you.
  20. SteveJRogers wrote: Some schmuck radio host named Max Kellerman proclaimed the Orioles to be poised to be a force in the AL East because of that signing. He also said Kaz Matsui would do well in his second year in New York because Hideki had a better second year in MLB than his first. Now there's a guy that Larry Merchant should be the crap out of.
  21. Bay is a great guy, Alderson said so, throughout his shite Mets career he has carried his shiteness with grace and courage , exemplary fellow Sandy said......
  22. Wally wearing 86 has got to inspire .......
  23. Edgy DC wrote: Terry Collins on the lineup: "It took me a while to figure it out." Terry's taking the piss right?.....I hope
  24. attgig wrote: hey went to the O's because he's like best friends with the o's coach that year (can't remember his name), and always promised him that if his buddy were to coach, he'd go over and be the pitching coach. didn't last long... Perloze right?
  25. Not sure why Mazzone ever left the Braves and I don't think he's done much since. Maybe this gets him some publicity? I remember there were some rumors one off season that the Mets were going to give him a huge contract to come over, something like a quarter of a million a year, pretty sure the Mets got used to up his price with the the Braves or maybe that was the off season he went to the O's.
