  2. TransMonk wrote: What'd I miss? I was playing cards and drinking beer with Rickey, Bobby Bo and Keith in the clubhouse. I was getting a haircut from Rey.
  3. Sandberg is their Backman sounds like.
  4. Word is Tito Francona will be out in Boston as early as today, would not be "fired" just his options not picked up. I suppose a dignified way of parting comapny. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/manager-terry-francona-expected-to-part-ways-with-red-sox-092911 Mike Quade expected to be gone too, he just got there didn't he? I saw Acta got his 2013 option picked up, he was signed through 2012 but they like him , as they should. Valentine to Boston talk starts now.
  5. Edgy DC wrote: Willets has indeed closed his account. Not to talk about him behind his back, but I'm sorry to see him go. Try as I might, I can't see why this disagreement should be so much more distressing than any others. We're certainly not going to agree on everything. No need to make it or take it personal. I don't get that at all, did we all miss something?
  6. No worries on a new stadium , auld Payson wouldn't spend the money , meanwhile Strawberry launches one deep into the upper deck.....not a soul up there to claim it.
  7. G-Fafif wrote: Is it really necessary to have Millan bunt here? what was it Yogi said about two bunts in a row? and he beats it out
  8. The guys are heading to the booth
  9. Don't care for either really and I voted for the Cards but I would think if the yankees made it then the Phillies are best equipped to beat them. It's not easy.
  10. Texas , I'm a huge George Bush fan and he has ties there.
  11. I can never fully enjoy the post season while the Yankees are in it, it's weird because seeing them lose in seven is great enjoyment . Or five as the case maybe.
  12. Arizona, no reason, no reason I didn't pick Milwaukee either.
  13. Centerfield wrote: It's crazy that: 1. Beltran won. After not being a Met for the last two and a half months. 2. Davis is tied for fifth when he played 4 games this season. that's just nuts...... I thought for a second that Davis maybe did only play four games......played in 36.....but still , Jesus.
  14. First they need to extract him from the bus that Collins threw him under......kidding I expect Jose takes a vacation first?
  15. Watch as Mets fans find something to complain about with her.
  16. TransMonk wrote: I'm rooting for Texas. Yeah, me too, be nice to see them do it after last season.
  17. I'm sure I am guilty of what you are talking about Grim , having said that I don't take stuff like that said in the heat of the moment all that seriously. I for one don't care for being told in general how to act as a fan either. wrong thread

  19. Some crazy night, went to bed with the Sox one out away and the phillies threatening, Rays looked cooked by then...amazing night of baseball.
  20. Congrats Jose.....hope you have a few more of these in a Mets uni.
  21. Cardinals killing the dick Myers, 6-0 Wankees beating Rays 7-0, way to go David Price again against the wankers
  22. Willets Point wrote: I can't believe I've been reduced to rooting for the Yankees and Phillies to win. I know right? Watching the MLB Channel , it was made for this stuff, Mitch Williams is a dick.
  23. Ha, so true Seo, Braun grounded out in his first AB.
  24. TransMonk wrote: May, June and July featured the most enjoyable Mets baseball I have experienced since 2006. The rest of the season was mostly "blah". Hats off to Reyes and Beltran, two of the greatest Mets to ever wear the blue and orange. They both had great seasons and I'll miss Jose if he doesn't come back. Get well Ike, Murph and Johan. I hope you're all ready for Opening Day 2012. Loved the youth movement of Tejada, Duda, Turner, and Thole. With other talent still to come in the minors, there's something to look forward to. Here's to a helathly and productive offseason that will give us even more hope for 2012 and beyond. Also, thanks to the CPF, who as always gives me an outlet to use so I can root along with other fans of my team. It means a lot to a guy who is so far away from the local fanbase. well said mate, having a young son certainly has given me a multitude of other things to do other than watch the Mets, if not for this place I might not have cared one iota about this team this season.
  25. No one gives a fiddlers fuck it seems.. scores Red Sox down 2-1 Top 4 MFY up on Rays 5-0 , Top 3 Braves up on Phillies 3-1 , Bot. 4 Cardinals teeing of on Myers in the first, 3-0
