  1. By mid-season he will be known as Anthony Raker.
  2. Zito pitching like this is old school.....looks curtains for the Tigers when the Giants are getting quality starts with the pen they have coming in.
  3. Bring Pelfrey back but not Torres please.....
  4. I don't vote in these but I certainly appreciate the work BG puts into it, beautiful cards.

  6. Just post the picture of you Mr. Mets fan wearing a Red Sox hoodie and getting called out by the great Mookie.....
  7. Gained a "few" stone! I remember Bobby V loved him, pitched well during his time here, a good guy.
  8. Been hitting the cages like a crazed man the last coupla months, trying to get back in 'game shape' to join an over 35 league in LA. Was checking out this league and saw the Sunday National MVP was a bro named Glendon Rusch. Was told there's a fair few ex-pros bouncing around. Gotta be, no? from wiki Rusch is currently playing in the PBL League in California. same league? can't be for the money unless he blew it all http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/ruschgl01.shtml made over $15 million in his career
  9. Giants in 7, rooting hard for them.......
  10. Right, you shall also love the Islanders young Harvey.
  11. Saul probably wears the black cap.....or worse the Spring Training one with the orange going over the ear.
  12. The fact that you can call a person a "faggot" and get away with it is wrong. In the UK/Ire where libel laws are strict that person could have been reported to the police and perhaps acted upon. When Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the soccer field a young man sent out some really vile tweets directed at and about Muamba.....he got jailed for 56 days......quickly too.
  13. So, Matt Harvey sends out this tweet during the Jet/Pats game and gets an avalanche of dumb in response MattHarvey33 This is our house!!!! #Patriots Javvvvv @MattHarvey33 go play for the fuckin Redsox and take your bullshit out of here. This is New York. Fuck the Patriots. AndrewLease Pretty stupid thing for a Mets player to tweet RT @MattHarvey33: This is our house!!!! #Patriots Metfan2987 @MattHarvey33 dude thats very bad form...u play for the Mets, dont talk out against their brother Jets...common sense punk J @mickey__hanley faggot RT @MattHarvey33 This is our house!!!! #Patriots just a sampling, he did get a lot of support too......still, twitter really can bring out the stupidity in people...

  15. Trading for a manager has to be one of the dumbest things in sports , it was dumb when the then Devil Rays did it, and gave up Randy Winn in the deal, paid Lou a lot of money and still lost of course. IIRC Seattle wanted to trade Lou to the Mets for Reyes.......
  16. Centerfield wrote: To me, unless the Mets someday beat the Yankees in the World Series, no Yankee loss will top Arizona's 2001 rally against Rivera. Never ever. Everyone (including me) was sure it was going to end the same way the prior three years had ended. It came out of nowhere and just STUNNED Yankee fans. The 2004 collapse against the Red Sox was a close second. I love the fact that every time one team takes a 3-0 lead in a best of seven, Yankee fans have to hear about it. Yeah, unless the Mets do it 2001 can't be topped.....add in the fact that we as New Yorkers were being implored to root for the MFY's as a sign of togetherness and to defeat the terrorists , ugh, being a Mets fan wasn't easy.I can still here my whiney co-workers voice asking in amazement why I was rooting for Arizona......"at a time like this".
  17. Excellent, it will always remain relevant.
  18. wasn't that a beautiful thing?
  19. From Deadspin A Speculative Column About A-Rod Being Traded Contains The Dumbest Sentence Youll Read Today Tom Ley With Alex Rodriguez quickly falling out of favor in New York, speculation has started to fly about whether or not the Yankees would be interested in trading Rodriguez in the offseason. This morning, USA Today's Bob Nightengale got in on the action with this column, claiming that "This will be the last time you'll ever see Alex Rodriguez in a New York Yankees uniform." The piece is entirely speculative and contains nothing of substance to back up its bold claim (Nightengale talked to a "close friend" of Rodriguez's who says A-Rod would welcome a trade but will not request one. That's it. That's all the reporting he has to offer.), but that's not really what makes it so awful. What makes it so awful is a line from this passage (emphasis is mine): [brian] Cashman vehemently denied a report by Keith Olbermann for MLB.com that said the Yankees have already discussed a deal to the Miami Marlins. "I've had no discussions whatsoever with the Florida Marlins,'' Cashman said, but then again, didn't deny talks with the Miami Marlins. "I can tell you there are no discussions whatsoever, 100% false. We are not down the line on any trade talks on any of our players, including Alex.'' This is your sports journalism, America. Go fuck yourself. USA article http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2012/10/17/alex-rodriguez-yankees-alcs-benched-trade-nightengale/1639977/
  20. Plus is sets up Verlander to start game 7.......but let's hope they finish it tonight and Verlander gets to start game 1 of the WS. BTW, he is somethign else to watch. and, Darling and Smoltz are a great team.
  21. seawolf17 wrote: They're waiting until the Cap'n is fully healed. And until Verlander retires. Dying over here
  22. Frayed Knot wrote: btw, I meant to mention this the other night so I better do so now as it's looking increasingly like the next meaningful baseball game to be played in the Bronx is going to be next April: - How great was it that Smoltz must have referred to the little league dimensions of YSIII about 46 times during the course of those first two games? Man, I loved Smoltz for that , he was unrelenting about the pace.
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Um, Wow, Arod for Heath Bell. http://keitholbermann.mlblogs.com/2012/10/17/exclusive-yanks-marlins-talk-a-rod-trade/ damn, and then they would need a 3rd baseman lock up DW now!
