  2. I owe my TV an apology for all of the swearing I did at it this afternoon.

  5. Vic Sage wrote: I'd rather see TJ Rivera in there everyday until Flores is back. He's shown an adequate glove and a line-drive bat. Whatever we'd have to give up for Frazier would be too much. This is where I am at as well.
  6. Yo, too. Yeah, I'd be surprised if they got this one in.

  8. I remember being surprised at how well Cabrera played D at shortstop last season. I'm not seeing that guy this season.
  9. The 2015 and 2016 teams got off to rocking starts in April before becoming disappointing in May, June and July. Maybe the 2017 team is trying to reverse that trend.
  10. I think that is now 5 times in 9 losses where there was a tied score at some point in the ninth inning. Infuriating.
  11. Honestly, other than the win streak from 4/9-4/13, the 2017 team has been pretty tough to watch. Through the first 10% of the season, they are not meeting my expectations.
  12. I worry less about Gsellman and more about the all-or-nothing offense. They should light up Velasquez tonight.
  13. I think it's time to let Wilmer sink or swim as an everyday player.

  15. A great night for the bullpen in extras. What another fun win!
  16. Centerfield wrote: Never been high on Wheeler. Throws hard, but seems to have a straight, hittable fastball. Off-speed stuff is lackluster. Nothing is really swing and miss. Nibbles a lot, I guess because he has a straight, hittable fastball, his off-speed stuff is lackluster, and doesn't have a swing and miss pitch. I think his curve can be formidable. Not that it always is - but it can be his swing and miss pitch.
  17. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I buy the larger size and pinch it a little tighter with a well-placed staple. It actually works! I go the other way and buy the smaller size. It then takes about two weeks of break-in where the cap is almost unbearably uncomfortable. But after a couple good sweats and/or some rainy dog walks, it fits like a glove - but on your head! The stretchy hats always look weird on me. They give me a cone head look.
  18. I'm just looking for continual improvement from Zack. I'm rooting for him.
  19. That was a fun one. Very nice to see the hitters beat up on Philly pitching.
  20. We need someone other than Cabrera and Bruce to step up. Actually, we need a lot of someones. Good win, though.
  21. A very encouraging start from Harvey. He looked confident and was fairly consistent. I'm looking for Wheeler to continue the string of good starts on Friday!
  22. Yeah, Ty Kelly always looks to me like a socially awkward teenager among men. His batting stance looks defensive and timid. I'm sure it's what works best for him as he is a professional baseball player, but it does not fill me with confidence when he is up in a big spot.
  23. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but apparently David Fincher's GONE GIRL Blu-Ray commentary includes this: ">
