I don't see how Bay is going anywhere.

I don't have the ill will towards Frankie that most have. He's an idiot off the field, but pretty good on the field. That being said, I don't want anything to do with his option for next season. I'm glad he knows the situation that he is in and is willing to adapt to it. He could be being a major dick about it considering his limited no-trade clause and his vesting option.

I agree with the SI guy that says his major league career is finished. Both parties were being stubborn and child-like in this situation, but Riggleman does not have the career winning track record to justify "demanding" a contract extention. Sorry, Jim. There is a reason you were managing the Nats on such a short leash. Respect for a manager is usually dictated by a history of winning, not on how old you are.

Books. This game should have been over two hours ago!

Right side abdomen discomfort for Cappy caused him to be lifted.

Aonther error leads to another Mets run.

Capuano will be pulled for a pinch-hitter...might be hurt. Either way, he will wake up tomorrow with an ERA under 4. Not too shabby.

Baseball...they were saying how thrilled he was to be able to visit Shea for the last time when the Rangers came in 2008. Eric Nadel grew up in Brooklyn a Dodgers fan per wiki. He's been with the Rangers since 1979. I have to think the FAN booth was overstating his Mets fandom. From a blogger's interview: "I rooted for the Brooklyn Dodgers, because I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. But they moved to LA in 1958 when I was 7. I continued rooting for them from long distance. But when the N Y Mets came into existence in 1962, I became a Mets fan and went to a lot of their games. I also went to Yankee games, but rooted against them."

Muffy scores Reyes to pad the lead to three.

7 Ks for Cappy through 5.

Wayne and Howie are talking about how one of the Rangers radio announcers is a big Mets fan. I didn't know that was allowed.

Except that Riggleman works in Washington and so the talk radio take on his situation will be ... that one of the Redskins ordered waffles for breakfast rather than his usual pancakes and what that means for the upcoming season. Those 17 Nationals fans will be pissed.

Rizzo may be a dipshit too, but as a major league manager, you are a leader of men...and to quit on them is pretty shitty. Yeah, Riggleman probably deserved some joib security and compensation, but he's already got a contract for this season...fight those battles in the offseason.

And not Bobby V.

What a deflating event for the players on the team. You win 11 out of 12 and are over .500, then your manager quits. What a dipshit.

BOC! Lot's of WTFs behind the Riggleman tweets.

YMMV. It's their job to create drama. They mentioned that several A's stated that they thought Turner could've gotten out of the way last night. I argue, that while he could have, I don't know of a reason that he should have.

The radio guys intimated that it might have been payback.

Alex Gonzalez.

Grounds crew out...tarp coming off.
