  1. Underwhelmed every time I saw him. I did like having an Iggy and and Izzy.

  3. I'm glad I missed that thread. What a miserable game. I also believe they would have rolled the Tigers in the WS. I was watching at a bar with a bunch of Brewers fans trying not to act like I had just had my heart ripped out and used as a air hockey puck in front of them. Last week made me feel a little better as the Cardinals did much of the same things to hopeful Brewers fans. At least I could tell them that I had been there as a fan and it sucks.

  8. So, the end of 2012 is creeping up (it seemed so long ago when it was announced). Do we have any thoughts on who might replace him? In other news, he's decided to retire to my town, which should increase revenue, but will probably cause the city to end in a tie.

  11. Rainn Wilson http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/17/world/cnnheroes-rainn-wilson/index.html?hpt=hp_bn4 Talking religion: He was convinced he wanted a religion that had something similar to the Great Spirit of Wonka Tonka, a deity of Native Americans. While watching a Mets game, Wilson and a friend prayed to Wonka Tonka that former Mets outfielder Darryl Strawberry would hit a home run to win the game. And he did. True story. Not making it up, Wilson said. http://www.theeagleonline.com/news/story/rainn-wilson-Bahaism-faith-religion-spiritual-journey-comedy-AU/
  12. Masters of the Universe (1987) From wiki: Cannon Films intended to create a sequel, which is indicated after the end credits when it is revealed that Skeletor in fact survives his fall. The low budget ($4.5 million) project that was to be directed (back to back with their aborted "Spider-Man" movie) by Albert Pyun was abandoned when Cannon wouldn't pay for Mattel's fees and the production used the already-made costumes and sets for the low budget sci-fi movie Cyborg.

  17. I chose Texas because they've never won and St. Louis has won too many times. That being said, I don't plan on watching even a single inning of this series.
  18. Heyman today on CNNSI: Jim Riggleman would have been a great choice for Mets bench coach. He is close with Terry Collins. Of course, the front office there seems to hold all the power, so it's not a surprise that they hired as bench coach another Oakland friend, Bob Geren, who wasn't too well-liked by some A's players. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Huston Street called Geren, "My least favorite I have ever encountered in sports.'' 19. Per Metsblog, it looks like the job is going to be Geren's according to Heyman.
  20. From a guy who doesn't think much of him during the regular season, I think Brian Anderson is calling a swell NLCS. Him, Ronnie and John Smoltz make a pretty decent national TV team. I think TBS should always let the local play-by-play guy call their playoff games.
  21. It matches for me.
  22. Gwreck's got 3 of the 4 teams that are still alive. His awards picks are looking decent as well.
  23. Stalker.
  24. Five to six months is March or April, no?
