  1. Per Michael Baron on Metsblog: New uniforms. Cream pinstripes are the primary. You will ONLY see the blue and orange caps in 2012. Black jerseys remains as an alternate (mostly on the road). 50th anniversary logo is on the sleeve and back of the cap. New BP jersey - blue and orange (like the Los Mets jerseys) Sweet!
  2. Got it. Thanks!

  5. A buddy of mine had a John Stearns Mets jersey...big Stearns fan. We went and saw the Orioles play in the mid-ninties when Stearns was coaching under Davey. We made our way down to the filed level during batting practice and my buddy starts yelling at Stearns to come over and take a picture and Stearns ignores him. After about 5 minutes of my friend yelling at him, John turns around to look. My buddy points to his jersey number and yells, "Look, I'm wearing your number." Stearn's yelled back, "That's not my number. That's Jeff Kent's number." 12 was always Stearns to me after that.
  6. I wonder how often we'll see the black unis with the orange drop shadow. I like the others.
  7. If the Marlins are offering 6 years guaranteed, they can have him as far as I'm concerned.
  8. LWFS: I'm not going to be able to count Paplebon per the ground rules. Also, you left Kelly Johnson blank. Would you like to choose a team for him?
  9. Thanks, BG. I never would have figured it out on my own. Rock!
  10. So...to those in the know: How do I format my chart so that it rises up to the top of my post?

  13. I still think they are fugly as hell.
  14. I thought the Madsen deal was a non-deal?
  15. Maybe he REALLY wants to wear contruction worker orange and fell in love with the new unis.
  16. Aha...I see what you did there...kind of like picking the chalk in an NCAA bracket. I likey.

  18. I've seen cat puke that is better looking.
  19. Schiraldi reminded me of a bearded Damien Echols of West Memphis Three fame. Overall, I was disappointed in the program. They didn't reveal too much that I didn't already know about the series other than the discrepancies in the recollections of McNamara and Clemens. I thought the production did all it could to suck the drama out of the games by the way the timelines were presented and the herky jerky stop and start of footage and interviews. It was definitely for Mets geeks. I would have been lost if I didn't have any knowledge of what had actually happened. It was like listening to my boring 10th grade Lit teacher explain Catcher In The Rye to an uninterested class when I could have just been reading it myself.
  20. We better get this going. I'll keep track and put up a chart once players start signing. You'll get one point for each correct pick. I'm limiting these FAs to 20...sorry. You can submit your list whenever you want to, but if your list is submitted via this thread after a FA signs, then you will not receive the points for that FA if you picked the destination team correctly. Here are your Free Agents, where are they signing?: Prince Fielder Albert Pujols Jose Reyes Yu Darvish Jimmy Rollins C.J. Wilson Aramis Ramirez Carlos Beltran Edwin Jackson Mark Buehrle Ryan Madson Jonathan Papelbon David Ortiz Kelly Johnson Roy Oswalt Heath Bell Francisco Rodriguez Josh Willingham Michael Cuddyer Javier Vazquez
  21. That is cooler than Manny's Scion, IMO.
  22. Vic Sage wrote: well, that means he won't actually play against us more than 12-14 times a year. And if he's had a good season, we might not see him at all at the end. BOC!
  23. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm coming to accept that he'll be gone, and if it doesn't work out that way, I'll be very pleasantly surprised. I adopted that line of thinking earlier this season. Now I'm just hoping that he'll leave the division so we don't have to see him 19 times a year.
  24. I've never understood having 2 PBP guys alternate innings if one of them isn't doing TV. Let Howie do all the PBP and bring in some ex-jock to do a little bit of color here and there.
