  1. I agree the unis look sharp. Give me the pins more than the snowballs at home, though. Can't wait to see blue caps on the road again. Along the same lines...I'm loving the blue walls at Citi. However, thumbs down on the ugly Party City logo.
  2. Dickey 3 Duda 2 Wright 1 Thole 1 Parnell 1 Rauch 1 Francisco 1
  3. Freese belts a 2-run HR later in the inning. 4 HRs given up by Gallardo today. Yikes!
  4. Carlos Beltran with his first Cardinal HR in the 3rd. I already miss him more than I'll ever miss Reyes. Matt Holiday follows with a back-to-backer off Y. Gallardo. 3-2 Cards over the Brew Crew.
  5. Metsblog showing the back of the rags.
  6. Yup, give me the Brewers. Thanks!
  7. Wright 2 Santana 2 Thole 1 Murphy 1 Brydak 1 Rauch 1 Francisco 1 Ramirez 1
  8. It was my first time with Lewin and I think he's an immediate improvement over Wayne. It may be easy to get up for Opening Day, but we'll see how he does in a June blowout against the Orioles. I think he is going to be OK.
  9. 33/51 on Opening Day. It's almost automatic. I love baseball.

Get the AtBat App for your phone. It costs $, but at least you can listen to the Gay Dames this season.
  11. Where did this cool burst logo come from?

  13. Hi Jose, It's been a while. I just want you to know that I appreciate all of the good things that you did in your Mets career. Every triple was a joy to watch and every stolen base made me happy that you are the exciting player that you are. I am thankful to have been able to watch and cheer for you and the teams that you played for. I will never forget what you brought to the top of the lineup and the shortstop position for all of the years that you were here. That being said, I will not miss you. The Mets will win again without you. Maybe not this year, but eventually. You are with the enemy now. If I ever find it hard to root against you, I will simply recall my last memory of you as a Met: your bunt-off batting title to end a losing season. I wish you no ill will physically, but I hope that you have your worst year ever. It all begins tonight. Here's to a last-place finish for the [crossout:27frvgz0]Florida[/crossout:27frvgz0] Miami Marlins and a free agent bust in their shortstop. Sincerely, TM
  14. Would have made a great drummer for the 'Mats.

  16. Very nice work! The 2012 Braves don't really impress me...however, the 2011 Braves didn't really impress me on the way to their 89 wins either. Shows you what I know.
  17. That's not horrible. As low as my expectations are for Pelf, I'm still pulling for him to do well.

  19. In the attitude of fairness and sportsmanship...I have Coco Crisp who went 0-5 in the first game. You can add him to the list. But, I'll understand if nothing can be done.
  20. I'd trade him for a used jock strap or cut him if this continues more than a few weeks into the season. Platooning him is not going to make him any better even though it will help the team. At this point, he's never going to get back to replacement level without a little cahnfidence. The cascade of boos that he will hear during every at bat as a $16MM playoon player is going to ruin any cahnfidence he has left. I try to hold off judging any player's season until Memorial Day, but Jason's spring has been downright awful.
  21. Best guess: Millionaires don't like to ride on buses for more than an hour or two if they don't have to.
  22. I guess that's what I meant by "work" yesterday.
  23. Yeah, I thought I had my lineup set last night, but I guess it reset everything either at the end of the draft or the start of the season. Luckily, Coco Crisp was the only player I would have had going this morning and he was 0-5.
  24. Could be coolish...if you're into doing the work. I'm OK with whatever goes down tonight.
  25. Vic Sage wrote: the trade was more about Ramirez than Torres. This. I love Torres' attitude and wish he was healthy. But I don't expect much of anything from him.
