  2. I think Acosta is for mop-up duty these days. They might be saving Hefner for a more meaningful situation in game 2.
  3. Looks like a Marlins game. Not a lot of peeps able to get the afternoon off, I guess.
  4. Hi! I'm Josh Thole and I currently have the fourth best batting average in the NL.
  5. Yes...just get the contract signed. I'm 90% sure they will get this done eventually.
  6. One fo my favorite "going-to-the-game" memories was seeing a single admission double header between the Mets and Brews at old County Stadium in 1998. I got Mookie's autograph that day, Mike Piazza was new to the Mets and I got to see Todd Hundley play LF. The Mets took the first game with a ninth inning rally and had no problem taking the late game. Good times! http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL199807221.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL199807222.shtml
  7. I'm still a sucker for double headers. 6 hours of baseball? Yes, please!

  10. Jeez...this thread had floated to the bottom of the 5th page... Mets doctors discovered a tear in [Edgy's avatar's] left elbow, and the southpaw will undergo Tommy John surgery, a baseball source told ESPNNewYork.com.
  11. I have no ill will towards Zito's ERA, I just want them to score enough runs to get the W.
  12. Cue the music from Timbuk3...

  14. Zito in 2012: 2 Starts, 1-0, 1.13 ERA, 1 complete game shutout, 8 K, 1 BB, 16 IP Still, the Mets should be capable of slapping him around.
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: If the whispers and suspicions are enough to keep someone out of the Hall of Fame, then Jeff Bagwell is in trouble. And so is Mike Piazza. And nearly everyone who played the game between 1994-2004.
  16. Gwreck wrote: Edgy DC wrote: "Gay dame." That's the other one. Agreed. It's time to ban that phrase too. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!![/bigpurple]
  17. Santana out after 1.1 IP and 6 runs. He looked like shit tonight. I hope he is not hurt.
  18. Things are getting out of hand in the 2nd. I think we're going to see a little bit of Miggy tonight.
  19. I've been thinking of this song all day. [youtube:9ufc57kk]SvNPHPlVDZs[/youtube:9ufc57kk]

  21. I don't move Tejada from the leadoff position. Ruben may need to be removed from that spot later in the season if he falters, but if it ain't broke... I honestly think with the way the team is playing, Torres may have to be useful off the bench as a PH and PR, but I don't fiddle with the lineup until there's a reason to make a change.
