    Love how McCarver & Buck called out Pettite for having a balk move, said his rep lets him get away with using it, and pointed out how it gives him such an advantage in a situation like the one in the first when Figgins was on. Also love how neither seemed to give a shit that something like that is not good.

Marcia Gay Harden plays the conservative, pageant-veteran mom that Page is rebelling against. Daniel Stern plays her understanding, beer-drinking, football-loving pappy. Drew Barrymore directs and plays one of the roller derby girls. Also in the flick are "Maeby" from Arrested Development, the adorable Kristen Wiig from SNL, Juliette Lewis, Eve, and Jimmy Fallon as the roller derby PBP guy. I dug it. Trailer:

So those guys joined the National Guard (reserves?) to maybe avoid being drafted, and Nolan Ryan (and maybe all 3?) were put in this champagne unit which would all but assure them of not seeing actual combat? Wonder if the Mets had to pull strings, or the fact that they were Mets the year after winning the WS was all the strings they needed? I never knew that stuff. Sorry if it's been covered before.

    That vid was kinda silly. I'm not sure whether any sign stealing was going on, but nothing looked "blatant" to me, and I didn't see Kubel's "eyes dart" to Mauer, and Verlander didn't "looked pissed" over it from where I sit. That said, I agree w/ JCL 1000% percent.
