  1. I went less than 10. I think it's all but a foregone conclusion that he's gone. Just the 'to where' and 'for whom' to sort out. And I'll say Braves, too, hopefully for Minor.
  2. One play after Carlos Gomez takes a serious shot to the collarbone... well, I'm no orthopedist, but I'm pretty damn sure Stephen Drew's season is over. OE: Blech. (NOT for the squeamish.) Holy shit, that's gross. Visions of Thiesman...
  3. Minor would a be a haul, a Major one. Would be awesome if Sandy could extract either that guy or Brown. Like that he doesn't give a crap about trading within the division, either.
  4. 'it's outta here, he's running home' is her -ex? cause, man, it's probably not literal abt Ordonez, right? I mean he did hit 1 that year. Awesome song. Need to be 'her fan' and never sign into TT.fm again anyway. Like that place, just always seem to miss u guys.
  5. My innocence is lost. Who is that chick and what's her story?
  6. Shit, I thought there was a game all day today.

Beltran and Fielder high-five at home plate..obviously they're schmoozing for next year right? Anyway, Justin Timberlake totally seemed sarcastic when he kept saying "Joe you call a great game" Missed this during the game. But I just caught the video. Suffice it to say, I'm stifling a giggle, and I am a much bigger Justin Timberlake fan than I was before. "Good game, Joe... you're calling a great game..." That he went out of his way to sneak that in at the very end for, like, the 4th time, made me LOLz. Joe seemed to like that talk as much as he liked DWI Gracey and Timberlake bonding over how much they both love delicious BEER.
  8. Awesome trip & recap, Soup. Glad you dug Doyer Stadium. I do, too, but rarely go b/c of hellish traffic ,and haven't been since the Stowe beating. Heard it was both empty and safer nowadays. I like bare boobies, too, btw. bmfc1 wrote: Great report. I'm glad you got two wins. I went to a game in SF and then in LA last season and saw Takahashi lose twice, the LA game being a shutout. Obviously, not as much fun. Pretty sure i was at that Takahashi game in LA.
  9. soupcan wrote: Wait a second...what did I miss? The game is at an NL park. Notwithstanding the fact that the All-Star Game is the ONLY place where the DH actually makes sense, since when did they stop alternating it's use in the ASG? Hasn't it been AL Park=DH, NL Park=Real Baseball for like...forever? This is goddamn stupid.
  10. SS is once again Rafael Furcal, who came off the DL yesterday (oblique). Got a hit, stole a base, and scored a run. He supplants Dee Gordon, a tiny lil, superfast sparkplug, who runs like Mays, but hits like shit. Bet Gordon gets a spot start or late-inning PR duties.
  11. Thank you! Had no idea... watching on MLB now.
  12. Those are nice uniforms.
  13. Didn't mean to put the fear of death in you. And since you were thinking about asking, I think this one's my fav.
  14. Just saw this interview by Paul Lukas on Centromatic's front man Will Johnson. Turns out he paints ballplayers, too, and has this beautiful Kingman for sale.
  15. are the Mets good? are they? or no?
  16. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Do we have a budget on how many cranes we can bet? I'll assume it's 100. I'll put 40 on Frankie, 40 on Beltran, 10 on Dickey and 10 on Capuano. Grimm bet 40 to win 20 on Frankie. He knows somethin' we don't know about Dickey & Carp! Me, I just made out at the craps table and had three bourbon/rocks, so I'm calling Paddy Power & betting 75 cranes on Daniel Murphy, super-sub to a hard-up contender, and my leftover 25 on Jason Bay and a suitcase full of ca$h back to Boston! Why yes, darlin', I will take another Makers on the rocks...
  17. Jeter, Ordonez, Renteria, A-Rod and ??. Who's the 5th shirtless, gold-chained Nancy?
  18. If it is the players' satirical response, that makes the whole thing all the better. And telling someone, "I'll make you suck my ass!" is way scarier/funnier/dirtier than just telling them to "suck my ass".
  19. "You say his hat is 2 big?? He needs that big hat to house his giant, smart ballplayer's brain. You gotta pay extra for that." "What, he dances all crazy?! Jeff, that's entertainment value. It's like Salsa night at the park every night. Or Samba. Whatever. But it ain't free."
  20. TransMonk wrote: This is a game where the Met offense needs to prove it's better than the Angel offense. I was afraid of that. LGM.
  21. Bloop triple? Maybe don't trade him.
  22. The Demise of Scott Kazmir. Long story, short: fastball no longer fast. Poor lil fella.
  23. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Mike Piazza never tested free agency in 1998. And he came a lot closer than Jose Reyes is now. (He was just a week or two away.) Piazza was during the season? My brain in all mush. Still think Reyes goes FA. This is his 1 big pay-day shot & I'm not sure even he knows what he can get at this point.
  24. From Metsblog, via the FAN's interview with Alderson this morning: He spoke about the future of Jose Reyes, and said he intends to reach out to his agents soon. He is aware of the fan sentiment regarding Reyes and acknowledged that has an effect on these kinds of decisions. However, while Reyes has expressed his loyalty to the Mets and the fans, he doesnt know if Reyes intends to test free agency this winter. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't go FA.
  25. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: High upside's cool. But is it me, or did he have the feel of a guy who'd be around later? I don't know shit about shit, but that's the impression I got. Whatever, let's see that potent Nim-Rod.
