I hate these kind of articles. We're supposed to believe that McNeil is slumping because Verlander usually prefers to eat alone?

But good luck finding a photo of Batista in a Pirate uni, let alone on a baseball card. He debuted with the Pirates and was traded after appearing in just one game for the Bucs.

Coudn't resist. The Mets purchased Adrian Garrett's contract, along with Amado Samuel's contract, on October 15, 1963, from the Milwaukee Braves. Garrett was sent back to the Braves to complete the Hook/McMillan trade. Said Garrett right after the Mets dealt him back to the Braves : "I'm what they call an unnamed player to be announced later.... I think I had a better chance with the Mets. Milwaukee is loaded in the outfield. But not the Mets. They're hurting.”

Our other interloper is, coincidentally, the Mayoral candidate who ran on the Shark Jumpers ticket -- Jay Hook. Hook was traded to the Braves, along with a player to be named later, during the 1964 season for Roy McMillan, and then sent down to the Braves minors immediately, from where Hook would never return to the majors. [FIMG=188]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53103215982_3118d04670.jpg[/FIMG] The PTBNL turned out to be Wayne Garrett's older brother, Adrian. Details are fuzzy on just how the Mets acquired brother Adrian in the first place. I learned of this just now and I'm not in the mood to research the issue. Thank you for playing. Oh, and when Hook won the mayoral election, they went nuts at Arnold's. [media=youtube]kemivUKb4f4[/media]

⚾️ Immaculate Grid 133 9/9: Rarity: 9 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 Play at: https://immaculategrid.comhttps://immaculategrid.com @immaculategrid x @baseball_ref [FIMG=555]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53113876104_03579d2bec_c.jpg[/FIMG] Matt Harvey should be shown in a Mets cap. On BBRef, retired players are shown wearing the cap of the team they played the most games for.

If I played today's game two weeks earlier, I would've only gotten five out of nine instead of seven. I got Fernando Rodney because I started to memorize his teams specifically for IG -- he played for more than ten teams and three of the 1990s expansion teams. And I got Swarzak only because I posted the Braves card thread a day or two ago and when I updated that thread for recent players, noticed that Swarzak played for the Braves.

Seven out of nine. Totally stumped on the two misses. Not even a wild guess or two. Post '69 expansion teams are my achilles' heel in this game. [FIMG=555]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53109480199_99cd4a0c85_c.jpg[/FIMG] If I answered Felipe Alou for Giants/Braves, I woulda had a father/son combo in my solution.

Chris Reitsma never played a game for the Mets. But Tom Martin was a Brave/Met. So the whole card gets a pass. Reitsma barnacled his way onto the thread without incurring interloper status. I'm hoping that Alonso chose to pose with that sleazepit only for the sake of the kids. But I suspect that he's a fucking Trump voter.

Time's up! Our other inerloper is Dean Chance, once the youngest player ever to win the Cy Young award. (I wonder who holds that record today?) Chance was signed by the Orioles but selected by the Angels in the 1961 AL expansion team draft before he ever got to the majors. Thus, Chance never appeared in a game for the Orioles. The Chance card, pictured below and in this thread, is an expert DIY custom card created by the late, great Bob Lemke, working from this team issued press photo: [FIMG=255]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53096631814_86c8b25b2d_c.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=411]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53091658587_085a0ed33b_b.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=277]https://i.etsystatic.com/9200294/r/il/e1b92c/2970146558/il_1588xN.2970146558_akt4.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=277]https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31-ib-N60lL.__AC_QL70_FMwebp_.jpg[/FIMG] Edit: Chance was left exposed to the 1961 AL expansion draft, but drafted by the new Senators, not the Angels.
