2. He'll practically be a free agent by the time he's back. So the Mets wont be able to benefit from most of the rest of his contract time and they wont get anywhere near the value they might've gotten for him in a pre free agency trade.
3. I have a bad feeling that everybody's gonna miss the 2020 season. Nice thread title.

5. Rachel Maddow reads this thread. She signed off yesterday by telling her viewers to "tune in tomorrow. Same bat-time. Same bat-channel." Where else could she have gotten that line from?
6. The Indian is Ken Sanders.
7. =G-Fafif post_id=33947 time=1585007244 user_id=55] Then buy them for Ms. Gaynor.

9. “Of the fifteen New York Met games she's attended, the Mets have won all fifteen.” —Casey Kasem, introducing Gloria Gaynor's.... “ I got a story that can top that. But first some easy math. So the odds of Gaynor, or anybody, attending 15 Mets games resulting in 15 Mets wins is about 32,000 to 1 (2 to the 15th) assuming the Mets have a 50-50 chance of winning each game. I'm simplifying things to get a "ballpark" (get it?) figure that's reasonably accurate if not precise to the last digit. So my mother (not a baseball fan and doesn't even understand the rules and I'm not even sure she gets it in her head that I'm a Mets fan -- but she definitely knows who Tom Seaver is) -- she's been to just two baseball games in her entire life. And in each of those games, the Mets starter pitched a complete game one-hitter. Gary Gentry in 1971 and Pete Schourek 20 years later. And I'm figgerin' that the odds of that are anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 to 1.
10. That's Jim (or Jimmy, if you prefer) Piersall in the next to last box.

12. I think that the last Twin is Bert Blyleven.
13. Is that Hojo the Rockie?
14. Richie Ashburn in box #1.
15. =G-Fafif post_id=33809 time=1584800309 user_id=55] I don't think those Buc threads debuted until after “Murder” aired. Pittsburgh should have called winners for the sequel.

17. I say "hey"!
18. You have a live television audience? What the hell's the matter with you?
19. A Transylvanian Count? The Old West? Civil War outposts? This could only mean one thing. You Look Familiar! The Balloon variation. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49675546787_e6bdfbe8b8_c.jpg>
20. Where the hell did Zvon go? He'd be a whiz at this. He's great with Mets faces. Probably even Mets half-faces. With the other half shaved off.

For instance, can you identify the beard below? https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2020/03/screen-shot-2020-03-17-at-10.59.05-pm.png> Hey! That's Jeff Reardon! What do I win? Is there a prize?
22. Hey youse baseball starved fans! Already sick of those quarantines and social distancing? Wouldn't you like your kids to be back in school already so they don't drive you nuts 24/7, hogging the bathrooms and your TV remotes and eating all the potato chips which you can't replace so easily anymore because who the hell wants to go out there? Need a baseball fix in these troubling coronavirus times? Well we here at Typewriter Chew have got just the thing for youse to pass the COVID-19 blahs. It's another Batman card. And a brand new subset. And we love subsets. So let's introduce our newest baby --"Mets of the Batman TV Show Era". The Batman TV show debuted in January of 1966 and aired it's last brand new episode in March of 1968, just before the start of that year's baseball season. So if you were a Met during either the 1966 or 1967 seasons, don't be surprised if one day, youse catch yourselves on a Typeweriter Chew Batman Mets card. Kapow! Today's card comes with it's own music video. But first, the card. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49669844193_031f02bee6_c.jpg>
23. =ashie62 post_id=33477 time=1584375188 user_id=90] Wouldn't it stand to reason a couple of teams may not be able to handle the financial hit? Players still get paid I guess while MLB will possibly lose in the billions. Hoping for the best Just sayin...
24. Lefty Specialist wrote: Outside of that, I got nothin'. I got dozens and dozens of unreleased Batman cards. Last year, I predicted I wouldn't finish the set before the 2020 season starts, but who knows now? It's total havoc now.
25. I mean, the gist of this seems to be: Male sports writers think locker room access is crucial. Sure, some women may get harassed a bit, but it's not bad and much better than it used to be. In the end, hanging out with naked dudes gives me insight, and that makes me a better writer. I don't get what the problem is with the nudity. They're adults and professionals and the writers at least, are formally educated. Doctors and nurses see naked people all the time. And the majority of nurses are females. We're a prudish and sexually immature society and that needs to change and the way to change that is not by removing women from the locker rooms or restricting them. If there's harassment going on in the locker room, I would imagine that the thing to do is to eliminate the harassment instead of banning women reporters from the locker rooms. Cocks and nipples. Big fucking deal. nobody's banning women from the locker rooms, we're banning non-employees, period. I know that. I was addressing some general attitudes here towards women and locker rooms. P.S. Do they still say "locker rooms"? I think it's "clubhouses" these days, right?
