    And if you know you're starting the taxi squad in Game 2 you have to throw your best. Which as you state, is Peterson. And if not, then go to Garrett or Diaz. No one looked worse this weekend than Stanek other than Zach Pop.

    Since this losing streak began on June 13, the Mets have basically had 13 throw away games. Brandon Waddell has been the bulk pitcher 4 times since June 13 (July 10, July 6, July 2, June 28). The Mets are 0-4. Justin Hagenman has been the bulk guy 2 times. (July 4, June 19). The Mets are 1-1. Paul Blackburn has 3 starts and 1 relief appearance during this stretch. (June 28, June 23, June 18, June 13). The Mets are 0-4. Blade Tidwell has made 3 starts (July 2, June 27, June 20). The Mets are 1-2. Overall, their record in these 13 games is 2-11. I get not wanting to bring up McLean/Sproat to make a spot start. But this is now nearly a month of starts that the kids could have been making.

    Infuriating. If you were going to send out the scraps to pitch in game 2, why wouldn't you go with Reed/Diaz in Game 1. Ridiculously stupid. All we needed was a split.

    Did Mendoza really go to Ryne Stanek with Reed Garret and Diaz available? And Peterson only at 90 pitches? Fucking awful. Did he not see what he looked like in his last appearance? The second inning to Zach Pop. Pitching to Judge. Stanek here. Some real shit decisions by Mendoza recently.

    I was thinking before this game that I was confident Holmes would at the least keep us in the game. He hasn't had that blowup game like Peterson has. I guess now he has. Let's score 8 here.

    The problem with me and Canadian players is every time I try to think of one I just think of Expos. I have no chance at this question. The only actual Canadian pitcher I know is Eric Gagne. So I'll guess that he was one of the pitchers. The team, the Dodgers. Year, 2001.

    The far worse baserunning from Mauricio was the play (I think Friday?) where he got deked by Lemaheiu into thinking the ball got past him and to tagged out. Ronny may not be the savviest player.
