  1. Jacob Young tries to rob Juan Soto. A valiant effort. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnXo0WoAA02qq?format=jpg&name=large> Young races back to the wall. Sees that he'll need some extra height. Kicks off the wall to propel himself upward. Only a peak male specimen at the height of his powers dares try such a maneuver. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnmCPW0AEQW0w?format=jpg&name=large> Young, pictured here at the peak of his jump. Ball not yet in the picture. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnvzqWUAA7-Gl?format=jpg&name=large> Our hero is back on the ground. Watching as the ball now enters the frame. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1Sn_weXEAAgqwv?format=jpg&name=large> The ball glances off the wall for a HR. Mere inches (I'd guess about 150 or so) from where his outstretched glove had been just moments ago.
  2. That's a good point. Had he kept moving upward for several seconds he might have robbed that HR.

  4. Because of the Tiebreaker scenarios, the actual leads are actually: Reds (1GB) DBacks (1GB) Giants (4GB) So while the Giants still matter, the Reds and DBacks are the much bigger threat. Reds play the Cubs at 6:40 p.m. Shota Imanaga (3.29 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) vs. Nick Lodolo (3.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP). Basically a coin flip. Diamondbacks vs. Phillies. Taijuan Walker (4.17 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) vs. Ryne Nelson (3.34 ERA, 1.06 WHIP). DBacks have the advantage. Giants take on LA Robby Ray (3.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) vs. Clayton Kershaw (3.53 ERA, 1.22 WHIP). Another toss up. Both have scuffled a bit lately.
  5. It does. This is the first time we can feel really good about this team. Nothing better than watching the teams chasing you after you win a Gay Dame.
  6. Every popup to Machado stays in play.
  7. I can see Matsui growing old to become Miyagi.
  8. Just when we were getting some momentum. Don't know what to do about Peterson. He's completely lost. Nibbling and not attacking the zone. Huge huge game tomorrow. Hope the kid can figure it out.
  9. Not crazy about putting Tong out there tomorrow with the series and season on the line. Pete gotta catch that.
  10. Every pop foul to Baty reaches the seats. Every popup to Machado stays in play. Every fucking one.
  11. Ok. Two run lead. 5-6-7 coming up. Rally time.
  12. We're really pitching Helsley in a 2 run game.
  13. Wtf was that. Watched three hittable pitches then waves at one a foot outside.
  14. Omg. We are running Hamel out there again?
  15. Of course. He pulls a Mendoza.
  16. Mendoza. It's a 3 run lead. The pen is completely rested. No reason to send in a punt reliever.
  17. The book is out on Peterson. And maybe the Mets veteran starters as a whole. They nibble around and try to make you chase. So batters are letting them run deep counts. Then you have to pitch to the middle of the plate. And that happens. Mets pitchers need to adjust.
  18. Peterson can you not suck please.

And, that on Sunday against Washington, it will be Manaea starting with Holmes as the piggyback. Fills me with a sense of dread
  20. Super important series. With the DBacks and Giants playing, the Mets have to win a minimum of 2 games to not lose ground. Tonight is the toughest pitching matchup of the series. Would be great to steal one.
  21. St Louis reminds us that Helsley was their best reliever. Cincy now 2 back.
  22. If the Cardinals beat out the Mets Helsley might earn two shares.
  23. And then give 3 right back. 6-4 Reds.
