  1. Gary is right. Spend the money on Cespedes. Let the Dilson Herrera Era begin. Hey, we let Knight go after '86. We can let Murphy walk too. I'd love to bring him back on a 1 year deal, but he will sign a long-term deal elsewhere.
  2. Ceetar wrote: yay! that was fun. shout out to the fans in my section who thought this was a mid-week April game yelling "down in front" at anyone that dared stand too much. That's when you turn around and yell "Up in Back" at them.
  3. I love that the Cubs were just dominated by Harvey and Syndegaard, and now get to go home and face our Ace.
  4. I hope Gwreck starts every thread for the remainder of the post-season. You know the cool thing? With each win, the Mets guarantee that their season will last at least 4 more games.
  5. Saturday. Section 435.
  6. Someone in the IGT mentioned that. The ump calls balls and strikes like he forgets that it is his job to do so.
  7. I am embarrassed to admit how much I am liking Chipper Jones these days.
  8. One more note, JCL and I both had the look of people who were looking to get to work on time. When in fact all we were doing is hustling to our desk so we could read about the Mets online and post here.
  9. I think we should incorporate more of this. And Lucas Duda is perfect for this. After a walk: 1. Lucas Duda pretends to choke on his tobacco. Pitcher runs over and gives the Heimlich. Runners circle the bases. 2. Lucas Duda delivers a stirring monologue. Runners circle the bases. 3. Lucas Duda belts out a Puccini aria. Everyone is moved. No one notices the runners circling the bases. 4. Lucas Duda moonwalks to first. Pitcher takes exception. Benches empty. Runners circle the bases.

RANDOM CPF GATHERING! The best part about this is that we now know we work close to each others. I sense a lot of "marketing meetings" taking place during day games next year.
  11. I move to convert this into the NO WAY I'M GETTING ANYTHING DONE AT WORK TODAY thread.
  12. Not to be lost in all this, winning tonight extends the Mets career of Bartolo Colon. That alone is cause for celebration.
  13. That is awesome and disturbing at the same time!
  14. cooby wrote: I know it's almost as good as 86 and it's only the first of three needed series! I know my dad is grinning in heaven So cooby wins this thread.
  15. Wait, there's more baseball? Awesome!
  16. EAT IT CHASE UTLEY. FUCK YOU MIKE SCOSCIA. EAT MY ASSHOLE OREL HERSHISER.
  17. My whole family is up. My brother is drunk and happy in St. Louis. My dad is answering texts from his crazy two sons. My wife (away on business) is keyed up in Arizona. Even my kids got woken up to enjoy this win. Love it.
  18. Last one to post tonight wins. I just poured another drink. I'm so pumped I'm going to be up until Saturday!!!! (this is not true, I will pass out in another 20 minutes)

  20. I was at the second game of the Washington series to start August. The day after the Flores walkoff. This game reminded me alot of that. deGrom didn't have his best stuff. He gave up 2 in the first. But then battled through the whole game. In August it was Duda. Tonight it was Murphy who played hero. But none of that matters if deGrom doesn't sack up. I don't know how he pitches with those big giant balls to contend with.
  21. Don't tell seawolf. I think he just jumped in.
  22. 4 scotches in. Just getting started.
  23. I love the fact that Dodgers fans will be thinking about that Murphy steal all winter long.
  24. Watching the post-game. So clear he was actively rooting for the Mets. Blasted the umps last Saturday. Called out Utley for a dirty play. Rooted actively for the Mets tonight. Still love Pedro.
