  2. C'mon, WP, that wasn't an example. That is my standard closing. You should know that by now.tsk tskSome peeps. :P Later

  4. Seo 6Reyes 2Wright 1Hernandez .5Looper .5Later
  5. Blanco double, Hollandsworth hitting for Maddux.Get Seo out of there. Let him leave with a chance to win. I don't want him to put any potential tying run on base. Over 90 pitches in this heat is enough. he proved enough to earn another start.Later
  6. Huh?That was a blast from the past. I thought you already mentioned that in another thread. We're on to bigger and better things. Later
  7. Yep, as for those traditional counting stats, those 34 doubles, 22 HR and 78 RBI don't look too shabby, either.Later

Are you sure you're not Willie Randolph, who hasn't learned from experience earlier in the year that you can't pitch Hernandez four games in a row? When this happened to you earlier in the year, I suggested you try typing long posts in Word and cut-and-pasting them into the thread. The suggestion still stands.Later
  9. Lundy, that was great!Do you do weddings and Bar Mitzvahs? One question though. will they be bringing the goat )or a black cat) with them? The Mets need any help they can get.Later
  10. You're right. He has compiled some impressive OBP statistics in his journey up the organization as an infielder.Apparently the only thing that has prevented him from being more highly regarded is that fact that he is dimensionally challenged - rosters have listed his height at anywhere from 5'5- 5'7". (Maybe that has something to do with his ability to draw walks)Guess the Met organization hasn't heard of Freddie Patek.Later

  12. And they hung a five-spot in a third of an inning, on old friend Mark Corey.Later
  13. No takers? The answer is infielder David Bacani, who has come into games in "save the bullpen" routs over the past two years. It looks like he will never get a shot with a regular infield job. Why not convert him to a pitcher, a la Skip Lockwood, G, Mota and our own Victor Zambrano?Couldn't hoit.Later
  14. What current Met minor leaguer hasn't given up an earned run in his last two seasons of pitching?Later
  15. Elster, of course he should. But by doing that, he officially cut his ties with the Mets. I couldn't care less what has happened to him since.Later
  16. I can forgive wille for rookie managerial mistakes. But NOT if he repeats them without learning from them.Roberto showed earlier in the year that he can't be overworked. (Didn't Willie use him in five straight games earlier in the season?)Unforgiveable.Later
  17. The guy' s older than I am (well, maybe not). He's pitching his thrid (or is it his tenth) game in a row. Can't we bring back Bell or somebody with a fresh bullpen arm?Later
  18. Serves him right for going over to the "Dark side" when he blew the whistle on the Interference play when we played the Yanks.Since that day, he doesn't deserve didly from Mets fans.Later
  19. Yes, friends, that is NOT a misprint.Batting cleanup today for your Boston Red Sox is nother than our old pal, Roberto Petagine.Later
  20. The is the old "the pitcher's due up next inning, we want him to go five for the win, etc." decision.Of course, that's the kind of decision that is usually made by bad teams.Later
  21. Let's keep it to baseball. You can dump Ghengis (although I appreciate your senses of History and creativity) and add (and it pains me to type these words) Mel Rojas.Later
  22. (Shhhh. I was trying the "reverse jinx")Later
  23. Looks like I was right about the F-18 being a piece of shit.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050804/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/fighter_jets_brakesLater
  24. Since the game is down the tubes, time to refocus. Is Anna Benson wearing something skimpy?Later
  25. Edgy DC wrote:I think M. Donald gets in the year after Walter O'Malley makes the Brooklyn Dodger Hall of Fame.Edgy, I'm not sure if that was funny or true.Y'know what? Both.Later
