  1. Has anyone mentioned Rick Wise yet (but I can't fit him into one of the clues)? Later
  2. Blank stare, but I think we may have a winner with Mark Davis.
  3. Stan williams Don wilson
  4. Bill Gullickson Zane Smith
  5. Bob Welch Burt Hooten Bill Hands You got me stalled on "Family" I know I'll kick myself. Later
  6. I'm losing my edge. Hey, speaking of families, what about Joe Niekro? Later
  7. Doug Drabek? Charlie Hough? Jim Perry? Later

  9. El Presidente I remember the Mets hung some ugly losses on Pirate closer ElRoy Face early on, but I don't think he hung around long enough to be high on this list. I'll guess Maloney in here, too. He and Al Jackson engaged in some classic duels, with "Little Al" holding his own pretty well. Dave Guisti. Gary Nolan Bob Friend Later
  10. This really isn't a Rant, Its a Rave.An Indians Fan on another board posted this. I roared.Enjoy.Later*******************************************************************************At Least Casey Blake Isn't Accused of Causing Gonorrhea......yet. With runners in scoring position and two outs this year, Casey Blake is hitting .056. For every time he comes through, there are nearly 18 times that he fails... or to put it in a little different perspective, let's look at some things that are more likely to happen than Casey Blake coming up with a 2-out hit with a runner on 2nd and/or 3rd: There's a better chance the next e-mail you receive will contain a virus. There's a better chance you have asthma. There's a better chance you have diabetes. There's a better chance you'll develop colon or rectal cancer. There's a better chance your home contains a radon level at or above the EPA action level. There's a better chance you will be killed or seriously injured in an auto accident. There's a better chance you'll develop a brain aneurysm. For the women reading this... There's a better chance you're morbidly obese. There's a better chance you'll get kidney stones. There's a better chance you'll suffer from a major depressive illness this year. For the kids... There's a better chance the fire department will have to visit your school this year. For the law enforcement... There's a better chance you'll be assaulted this year. For the male caucasions... There's a better chance you'll spend part of your life in prison (of course, if you're not caucasion, the odds are much, much higher). So I think it's rather obvious that if you see Casey Blake come up with a hit the next time there are two out and runners in scoring position that you should probably call your doctor. ********************************************************************************This reminded me of some of the more creative Rey Ordonez posts.
  11. No matter. 20 years from now, his memory will make it sound like his name was read by John Facenda. Later
  12. Larry (p'tui) Jackson Mike Krukow - It still galls me that Ralph Kiner likes the guy and manages to get the director to show him (broadcasting for SF) on Met telecasts. Later

    RIP

Since he will probably never get his number retired in his honor, I propose that from now on, the place of any power hitting first baseman on the Mets be called: The Donn Clendenon Memorial Roster Spot, or DCMRS This name and spot is to be carried forth by edgy in his ongoing roster updates. Anybody second the idea? Later
  14. Edgy DC wrote: He's scheduled to be in there on Tuesday. Randolph apparently wanted him. I'm glad to hear that. But with Matsui's recent good hitting, I still wonder why Cairo was in there today. Any info from Willie on that? Later
  15. So naturally, the start goes to ...... Cairo. Why am I not surprised? Later

  17. Somebody should call 1-800-BUY-AHIT and put out a contract on Giles. Or maybe I'm just jealous that we don't have a "beat you any way I can" pain in the ass sparkplug* fucker like him at the top of our order. He annoys me more tan any other Brave. * = I reached my limit for adjectives in this sentence. Later
  18. I = None of the Above. I'd cast my vote for Hidecki Matsui - who has been the steadiest Yankee run producer all season. The Daily News has been running a "Yankee (and Met) of the Week" article all season, with weekly points awarded. Matsui is in the top three in a close race. B'sides, he carried that team to their big lead the first half of last year, while all the other stars weren't performing or were injured. When Sheffield came back, he piled up stats while the Yankee lead dwindled. So, my vote this year is because I think he got screwed out of it last year. But if I have to pick one from your list, I'd vote for Vlad. Without him, that team blows chunks. Later
  19. Martinez 5 Jacobs 3 Reyes .5 Beltran .5 Diaz .5 Wright .5 Later
