I thought he seems to be a passionate fan and might not know of the Pool and would enjoy it. B'sides, it might to be kewl to get mention in the WSJ some day. Who knows? Then a movie. Then a TV series. Well be fam ... , er, never mind. Later
Travis ready to start rehab soon. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/mets-catcher-travis-d-arnaud-reportedly-close-to-rehab-stint-071515 That elbow bandage made him look like he was trying out for Roller Derby. (Couldn't find a pic) Later
Rodriguez and Lawley are two players who have hit more than 20 home runs in a season in the minors (more than once). Aderlin did it in "pitchers'" leagues and home ball parks. And his strikeout totals were fairly respectable for someone who had "hit-'em-over-buildings" power. But the homers weren't as frequent as might have been projected. Too bad, I expected him to develop faster, and was thisclose to adopting him. Lawley is a career organization filler who plays multiple positions and Pena is a high average hitter with little power and a good outfield glove. I'm not sure who in the organization is ready to replace any of them. Sad to see them go. Later

I'm not sure a high school AV club couldn't top it. In other words, it was a broadcast on ESPN that was about (a stretch) baseball - a subject they don't seem to care about. 'Nuff said. Later
I knew more about Gus, since he played most(if not all) of his career in the National League. He had been on the 1960 Pennant winning Reds (I did an historic KTE about them) and was an original Met. Buddy played most of his career in the American League so I hadn't followed him with great interest. That's why it came as a surprise. Nobody remembers everything about baseball. That's why they have databases and trivia contests. Later
Nice list. The one that shocked me was Buddy Bell that much over daddy Gus. I remember Gus as a good power hitter for the Reds for many years. Didn't realize Buddy had a better career. Later

Now that Kirk has turned the corner towards superstardom we don't need any LH-hitting OFs so they should just deal Conforto off for 70 games worth of Justin Upton. And if SD won't take that then throw that injury-prone Matz guy into the deal. Get it done, Sandy! Didn't I hear you today on WFAN? About eleven times? Later
