Edgy MD wrote: MFS62 wrote: Joel Sherman ? @ Joelsherman1After canceling the Gomez trade, I have a gut feeling the #Mets are going to land Josh Reddick before the deadline Later My guess is our colleague isn't a particularly sophisticated Twitter user (I share his shame), and mistook a tweet that appeared under Sherman's profile (because it led with @Joelsherman1) as coming from Sherman himself. Yes. I am now holding my head down. Oh, the shame! I hat this new (to me) Twitting stuff. Later
  4. My kid picked up his second win in relief last night, pitching two scoreless innings for Savannah. His record is 2-0, 5.40. Later
  5. Lenny? He was a funny guy. LAter
  6. First Kasmir, now Gomez. The 'Stros are still pissed at the Mets about 1986. Later
  7. And their fees are so high that the Wilpons had to invest with Bernie Madoff to pay them. At least, that's what Megdal would probably write. Later
  8. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: The speculation I read is that it puts Grandyman in center. That's not ideal. The pitchers will just have to bear down and strike out more hitters. Later

  10. This one's on me, folks. I didn't realize that the mere motion of Angel Hernandez' name is harmful to the Mets cause. His No-Jo is that powerful Sorry. Later
  11. Joel Sherman is now twitting that he has a "gut feel" that the Mets will now obtain lefty hitting Josh Reddick before the deadline. I wonder how fast that will go viral? He has played some center, but primarily has been a corner outfielder. Later

  13. Just a case of epidemic premature exultation. Later
  14. Frayed Knot wrote: The earlier link to the report on MLB.com has totally disappeared as if they think this is a way for them to pretend that they didn't report this thing as a done deal hours ago. Yeah, and Sherman too. Somebody should have told Tom Brady how to make e-info disappear. He wouldn't have had to destroy his phone. Later
  15. I believe a PTBNL cannot be named now. Period. With Wheeler being named, it violates the spirit (if not the letter) of that rule. That's what I meant. He would have to find a way around the rule once Wheeler's name has been leaked. Later
  16. Someone needs to console and comfort Wilmer. He needs a hug. Later
  17. Then my response to your statement in the Gomez trade thread has been clarified. Then, how can a player on the DL (60 day or otherwise) be traded? Stay tuned for the next exciting chapter. I guess this is where Sandy earns his money. Later
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Then I'll move this question to this thread. Help me out. When did it become OK to trade a guy on the DL? Openly and explicitly and stuff? It seems that as recently as the last year or two that if such a guy was included in a deal, he would be officially designated as a PtBNL. That's how I remember the rule, too. Unless its something about the wording of the rule. The 60 days of DL have expired. Maybe he's officially on a "rehab assignment" as a way to get around the rule. I dunno. The devil is in the details. Later
  19. Just got back from vay cay this afternoon. Missed your post. That said. Doesn't a player have to be taken off the DL to be sent to rehab? Your latest Roster still had the little 60 day DL tag. And that's what I saw when I got back. Later
  20. Miami/ LA deal still not completed. Buyer re-Morse? Later
  21. Cesar Puello has been sent to the Mets GCL team to begin his rehab from his 60 day DL stint. Later
  22. Edgy MD wrote: Wow. This got some of the most vicious reviews I've seen in a while. When I saw the trailer, I knew there was no way I would want to see the movie. Well, one reviewer did, and here's his (now viral) review: http://moviebob.blogspot.com/2015/07/pixels-2015-review-text-version.html Later

  24. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I think it was Olney who speculated that Morse came as a favor to the Marlins who wanted salary relief and in exchange are getting lesser prospects from the Dodgers. LA likely to turn right around and release Morse. I hope not. When I heard of this deal, II thought that if they couldn't trade Morse to the AL (or the Tibetan League for that matter. He looks like a Yeti.) I was glad he at least got traded to a team that won't play the Mets too many times each year. If he gets released, he still could come back to the NL East. Later
