  1. Loved it - story, cinematography, acting, even the disco music - everything. Don't do 3-D , but there were some scenes that might have been enhanced by it. But that wasn't necessary for the enjoyment of the movie. Later
  2. I sat in front of Chris Rock and Spike Lee at an MFY playoff game. And they were rooting for the MFYs. (I wasn't)Rock swings both ways. Later
  3. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Was that snark? Or ignorance? I heard it, too. The guy is a YLDB, who was trying to piss off his co-host (I think he is an ex hockey player) who roots for the Mets. But the guy was so depressed, it sounded like he felt that not only the baseball season is over, but its also the end of the world. And I enjoyed every minute of his suffering during my drive to work. Later
  4. This is probably the best thread for this news. Dillon Gee asked for, and got, his release from the Mets. http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2015/10/07/dillon-gee-leaves-mets-becomes-a-free-agent/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs Later
  5. I was an hour late to my own wedding because I got stuck in traffic on the Long Island Expressway. [crossout](Well, I wasn't exactly chained to the bed.)[/crossout] I believe him. Later
  6. I want to see New York dash the hopes and dreams of Chicago fans on their way to a World Series Championship, just like in 1969. Later
  7. How great is schadenfreude? Boys and girls, if you see a sad MFY fan today, enjoy the heck out of it. Later
  8. If you didn't follow the game on ESPN (like me) you apparently missed some good announcing. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/who-is-jessica-mendoza--a-budding-baseball-broadcasting-star-011321256.html Is this game considered Single Happiness? Later
  9. Good point. Later
  10. Edgy MD wrote: I don't get it. I disagree on all accounts. Obviously they're among the weakest bets, and that's why they've been dealt out and won't be seen unless there is at least one injury, but that sort of absolutest hatedown is unjustified. Maybe a tad hyperbolic for comic effect. No hate intended. But I'd still rather see Logan than any of the others. (If I have to see any of them at all) Later
  11. Of those players: Young can't do anything but run, so to see him in a game would mean the Mets are losing. Campbell can't do anything other than consume oxygen. Recker can't do anything other than look fabulous. Parnell can't do anything other than throw gasoline on a fire. (see situational comment about Young) So, by my process of elimination, I'd like to see Verrett make it. There will be a lot of good pitching in this series. Some games could go into extra innings. Logan can go more than one effective inning. Later

    Mets Beard?

No beard for me. I had one many years ago (my co-workers urged me to cover up as much of my face as possible). But MMYF says she doesn't like me to wear one. So I won't wear one. Later
  13. If Irish had entered, he would have won the whole thing. Later
  14. Wonder what Michael will say about this one. Later
  15. so many Mets fans are such vicious, vile people. He never listened to, or watched, the Bleacher Creatures at YS III? Primordial sludge from the bottom of the gene pool. Each and every one of them. I'm surprised. When he first started on his daily radio gig, he said he had never eaten ketchup (and never done a few other things that IIRC seemed fairly common). You'd think an elitist prick like him wouldn't associate with MFY fans, either. Later
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: I had no problem with his lineup today. Neither did The Philly pitchers. Later
  17. heard on Sports Radio yesterday (don't remember which station) that lefties only hit about .125 against Tyler this year. Just saying. Later
  18. Just checked the box score, not watching the game. Terry double switches Conforto out of a game in which they are being shut out so he can put YOUNG in the game? Why not just replace the pitcher when appropriate and keep Conforto in the game? Somebody had better remind him that the home field advantage is still in play. Later
  19. The post game story on Yahoo Sports said that the ump (Bob Davidson) didn't think Cespedes was hit by that pitch, it had to be proven by replay. Was it obvious, or is Davidson a jerk? (Those things may not be mutually exclusive) Later
  20. Bartolo But I'm wondering where he acquired a taste for lox on his bagel. Later
  21. British Columbia loves us more than the District of Columbia. Those Canadians know good baseball, eh? Thanks, Later
  22. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I had no idea that they made Underoos in adult sizes. Depends. Later
  23. Doesn't TC realize there's still a chase for the home field advantage in the playoffs? How drunk did he get last night? Later
  24. Who didn't vote for Wilmer? 'Splain please, Lucie. Who else would play short in a crucial series? Later
  25. I'd like Terry to keep that one in his back pocket until the home field advantage has been decided. But I wouldn't mind seeing Herrera and Conforto on a semi-regular basis for the rest of the season. And its time to get Wilmer some regular at bats again, too. (Terry said he looked tired and gave him some rest.) Later
