  1. Danny Mendick made it over the Mendoza line. Now, sit his ass down and bring up Mauricio. Later
  2. Butto (mentioned above) is pitching to a 6.62 ERA in 15 starts at Syracuse. I'd try one of the other options ,maybe Scott, before him, even though he'd be jumping a level. It looks like my adoptee, Vasil, needs some more work at AAA. His ERA is 6.59 in seven starts. Later
  3. According to SNY, Aug. 2, 6:28 p.m. After the multitude of moves New York made at the MLB trade deadline, some more new faces have arrived and are with the team in Kansas City. RHP Phil Bickford, who was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers, was activated and INF Jonathan Arauz was recalled from Triple-A. To make room on the roster, the Mets have optioned RHP Vinny Nitoli and C Michael Perez. In 36 games this season, Bickford has pitched to a 5.14 ERA over 42 innings and has struck out 48 batters but has walked 26. The 28-year-old has been in the majors since 2020. Arauz has played in 68 games across three seasons at the major league level with the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles, but it's the first time the Mets have called him up. The switch-hitter has five home runs in 175 at-bats in his career. Later
  4. Nice to hear he's getting some recognition nationally. Later
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Is there anything more to the "Minus Brandon Nimmo" thing I need to know about? According to SNY, quad tightness. He's expected to miss a few games. Later
  6. Has anyone else ever used farkakte in a song parody here before? For any reason? And it was the perfect word. Kudos! Later
  7. Mike has an ERA over 6 since his promotion. Later
  8. Edgy, Julio Zayas wasn't in the starting lineup today and my heart skipped a beat. Was he injured? Was he thrown into a trade? But he later pinch hit. (sigh of relief) Later
  9. Snarky fuck. Later
  10. Edgy MD wrote: Is there anything more to the "Minus Brandon Nimmo" thing I need to know about? I didn't notice any of the deals were "Player to be named later , pending a physical" types. So it looks like he's still with the ballclub. (knocking wood) Later
  11. Greinke is 1-11 this year, but has the second most wins of active pitchers - 224. Later
  12. Can't wait to see the lineup. Later
  13. Both relievers. Later
  14. Lefty Specialist wrote: The return is Jeremy Rodriguez, a 17-year-old shortstop. Guess we won't know how this trade pans out for a while. The top international signee by the snakes. Later
  15. Tick tock. About 1 1/2 hours to go. A nail biter. Later
  16. Watching him pitch was a class in pitching. He worked the speeds, the count and the strike zone, all within what pitches were working that day. It was a pleasure. (And those shots of his wife in the stands were pretty good, too) Later
  17. These moves open up a lot of spots on the roster. Edgy's going to be busy. Later
  18. Edgy MD wrote: "Nothing coming in the farm system" I'd like to have a dollar for every time that has been said by a fan of a major league team. Later
  19. Edgy MD wrote: Well, there are also AAA guys that could go — Michael Peréz, Tomás Nido, Luke Voit, for instance. But I imagine the plane flight won't be an issue. Kansas City is delightfully located as equidistant as can be from all other MLB cities. I know. But it seems sad that a guy gets on the plane for a road trip only to be told when he gets there that he has been traded. Then he has to jump on a plane to go somewhere else. I wonder if they give a guy a hint there are negotiations going on before he gets on he plane so he'll be mentally prepared. Or do the players accept it as "part of the business"? Is it the job of the travelling secretary of his old team or new team to arrange the flights and luggage? I'm not sure. Later
  20. Getting closer to the deadline. If they trade anyone else, he may have to bail out of the team plane on the way to KC. Later
  21. One of those "good guys to have in the locker room". And it seemed like he deserved those comments. Later

  23. I'd like to know more about the differences in that "pre-tacked" ball used in that league and specifically how it might make his current repertoire look better than it really is. (e.g.-Does it improve spin on the curve? Does the ball add/detract from his speed on the fastball?) Variations like that can make judging his upside more difficult. Aside from that: - He is Rule 5 eligible following the 2023 season, meaning the Mets will have to put him on the 40-man roster to protect him. - Does this mean McNeil will move to the outfield full time? Baty? Does this mean Mauricio will be recalled soon? Something else? Stay tuned for the next exciting chapter. Later
  24. =ashie62 post_id=133361 time=1690764527 user_id=90] I had at least 9 IGT wins here
