My nerves couldn't take watching Ottavino. He's too inconsistent. I voted Garrett. Let's use the hot pitcher in high leverage situations while he's still hot. Later

I think it is time to start worrying about Diaz. Later

=whippoorwill post_id=155254 time=1715690664 user_id=79] Bringing up Syracuse players to boost the team sounds like a good and exciting plan but it underscores the paltryness of the main team.

I read that Megill will be recalled to start one of the Marlins series games. Later

I'm going to have to buy some false fingernails because mine are bitten down. The Mets were the only team in the organization to win yesterday. The minor leaguers lost all six games they played. Later

Time for JD to earn his pay.(Because I have no confidence in Bader or Marte) Later

When he says they can't do much until the trade deadline, that's silly. Any trade can be made before the deadline, and through waivers after that. There may be a desperation for many teams to move players as the deadline nears, but that isn't a hard start/stop. Later

McNutt be like hey, batting 9th is just like leadoff only one less time per game! I WAS batting champ once! Once... Like when manager Leo Durocher convinced Adolfo Phillips that when batting eighth he was the "second cleanup hitter". Phillips went on to have his best year. Later

=Centerfield post_id=155510 time=1715874749 user_id=65] Not that I want this to be a day game. Just illustrating how little sense this makes.

Before today, the Mets led the majors in walks allowed with 187. #2 was the Marlins with 177. #3 was the Astros with 174. The average was 138. It could be because they aren't (except maybe Severino) "Stuff" pitchers. So, in absence of a strikeout pitch, they have to get batters out by pitching to the corners or getting batters to chase outside the zone. And they've been unsuccessful doing that. Just my impression/opinion without looking at pitch selection and location charts, should they be available. Later

By the end of the year, his nickname will be Yo-Yo. He'll be up and down to AAA, filling in, pitching well, and not sticking around. 4-5 3.84 I can just see the news reports in about 30 years: "Jose Butto has been elected to the Hall of Fame". And in an associated story, "the Mets have optioned his bust to Syracuse". Later
