  2. Lefty Specialist wrote: How do you say 'shitfuck' in Japanese? Not sure, but my Japanese friend in the Army told me that "Ai ick-a-TAI" means "eat shit" so I'd bet its is something close to that. (That may be off a bit, since it has been 60 years since he told me) Later
  3. As per Mendoza - a lower calf strain that makes him "pretty much done for the rest of the year" https://sny.tv/articles/mets-kodai-senga-15-day-il-left-calf-strain-7-27-24?fbclid=IwY2xjawESG4xleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcCl7F_ZE84X16bgr3itO2hED1RS4lux2z20J8-4xZlrJYzmOuTeLllxNg_aem_jWqNgpCreGOl5mzpV5_kIghttps://sny.tv/articles/mets-kodai-senga-15-day-il-left-calf-strain-7-27-24?fbclid=IwY2xjawESG4xleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcCl7F_ZE84X16bgr3itO2hED1RS4lux2z20J8-4xZlrJYzmOuTeLllxNg_aem_jWqNgpCreGOl5mzpV5_kIg Joe Schultz. At least the trading deadline hasn't passed, but they may now have to dip into the prospect pool to get a frontline starter back. Later
  4. I remember watching another relief pitcher in NY named Ryne (Duren). He, too, had a blazing fastball and sometimes questionable control and the batters feared him. I hope this one can strike similar fear into the hearts of hitters. Later
  5. Spencer Schwellenbach 3-5 4.62 Tylor Megill 2-4 5.08 Game time 4:10 Later
  6. Lefty Specialist wrote: Lower calf strain, which is really vague. Need to know the severity. As long as we don't hear the words "Achilles" or "hamstring" I'll take it. Later
  7. 46G but 36 IP. That looks kinda' odd with the new relief rules . Later
  8. If he tore something, they wouldn't let him walk on his own.(knocking wood) Later

  10. In the last off season, when the Mets were looking for hitters, one of the players some CPFers were looking at was Adam Duvall. Well, tonight we can look at him trotting around the bases after his 2 run dinger. Later
  11. Frayed Knot wrote: Yeah, the Dodgers dealing pitching is strange. Paxton was DFA a few days ago. I think I read that Clayton Kershaw just got off the IL. Later
  12. From SNY: The Mets have placed Dedniel Nunez on the IL and DFA'd Adrian Houser amid a flurry of roster moves. In the corresponding moves, Kodai Senga was activated from the IL, Shintaro Fujinami was reinstated from the IL and DFA'd, and Eric Orze was called up from Triple-A Syracuse. Nunez, who has emerged as one of the Mets' best and most reliable relievers, is dealing with a right pronator strain. Later
  13. Red Sawks pick up pitcher James Paxton from LAD. Later
  14. We need you to post more often. Nice wrap-up. It wasn't D'Arnaud's fault for leaving the Mets, but he's tried to remind them they shouldn't have. UMDB sez he has a .315 BA in 31G, with 8 D, 5 HR and 24 RBI since then. (I'm not sure if that included last night's hit and RBI) Later
  15. Charlie Morton 5-5 3.92 Kodai Senga 0-0 0.00 Game Time 7:10 Later

  19. Mike lost his start today, dropping his record to 4-6. His game numbers:4.0 IP 5 H 3 R 2 ER 3 BB 2 K His season's ERA is now 5.76. Later
  20. Edgy MD wrote: We're getting Young relieving Young. That's a first in team history, although I think we've had Eric Young replace Chris Young in left field. Did Bob Miller ever relieve Bob Miller for the Mets? Later
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: Cole v Mets this year: 9.2 IP; 12 ER; 15 H; 4 K; 6 BB Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Later
  22. Chad ochoseis wrote: Bader injury mentioned? We mentioned he wasn't in the lineup. Is he injured? What's the injury? A tater at YS III 30 rows deep means it looks like a pop fly in a real major league ballpark. Later
  23. The MFY fans have been all over Torres this year for (apparent) lack of hustle. Too bad he picked this series to try to win them back. Later
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Maybe he's being punished for hugging Spike Lee. I hope he got his shots. Those MFY fans can be rabid. Later
