  2. If you just want a hitter, Joc Pederson is out there. Bellinger adds a glove to that, but would probably be more costly. Later
  3. Alex Ramirez was signed as a five tool player. They never developed. Now he's just holding one tool. Too bad. I hope some other organization can unlock that talent. Buena suerte. Later
  4. The Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds are in agreement on a trade that will send infielder Jonathan India and outfielder Joey Wiemer to the Royals while right-handed starting pitcher Brady Singer will head to the Reds. Later
  5. The question stated you could vote for up to 10. Those are the same rules actual HoF voters are bound to. Later
  6. I have a feeling that the next time we see him will be on Dancing With The Stars. Later

  9. I think I saw Carl Crawford money on the same playlist as Bette Davis Eyes. Later
  10. Good stuff, but neither control nor command. Later
  11. I lived a brief walk and one subway stop away from Shea. That was close enough. Later
  12. The Mets will just have to win everything next year from wire to wire for Carlos to get it. Later
  13. Trey was not added to the 40 man major league roster and can be drafted by any other major league team in the rule V draft. Later
  14. Mike was not added to the 40 man major league roster and can be drafted by any other major league team in the rule V draft. Later
  15. From Yahoo Sports: The Mets elected not to make any additions to their 40-man roster ahead of Tuesday evening's Rule 5 protection deadline, meaning that right-hander's Mike Vasil and Dom Hamel among others will remain eligible to be selected during next month's draft. Some of the notable players who were left open for Rule 5 selection include spring training standout Nate Lavender, 27-year-old versatile slugger Luke Ritter, and injury-plagued third-round pick Matt Allan. Later
  16. Harrison Bader lite. He hits less but makes $9 million less. Stacking the chips for Soto. Later
  17. The Mets are acquiring OF Jose Siri from the Rays for RP Eric Orze, per Anthony Di Como. He plays center and has hit .215 in 356 major league games. Later

(The headline was clever, too.) who's "they"? And why would you be happy about such a thing? Management(manager and pitching coach and maybe the analytics people). He was kept out of high leverage situations after that. IMO, that was a good decision. Later
  19. The time when players will have to be added to the major league roster to protect them from the Rule V Draft is 6 PM today. Stay tuned. Later
  20. High risk/ high reward. I'm still iffy on him. Later

  22. Even Roger Maris had a career BA of .260. Grandy's was below .250 (.249) I looked, was surprised(shocked, actually), then went elsewhere with my votes. Later

  24. =Centerfield post_id=179303 time=1731967462 user_id=65] From Bob Klapisch. I wish we had a better description of this source. The suggestion seems to be that the source has some knowledge of Steinbrenner's mindset.
