  1. That was Alvarez's first hit since last August
  2. Alvy is killing this team
  3. The Mets thought enough of his arm to keep him thru however many injuries and development/rehab time he needed. Pitched pretty well but I can't recall if we ever had a Sean Reid-Foley Game. Better than Steven Matz, afaic
  4. Wasn't there a guy called German Gonzalez? Or was it Gonzalez German? Wasn't thinking Jeremi Gonzalez -- forgotten we'd had him looked it up -- Gonzalez German, No. 71 not 72
  5. Fast, lithe, expressive eyes. More deer than man.
  6. No. 72, Germen Gonzalez. I was disappointed when the get rid of him
  7. Plus seems like most Denverites live like 1 hour away from Denver
  8. I feel like when this cat came up with the Cardinals he was going to be a stud and not a DFA shuttle guy. Cool name, one of a kind, number wise.

You don't want to look away because a moonshot could come at any moment, but it's absolute torture watching him fall behind 0-2 on a wild swing-and-miss and a down-the-middle called strike, then whiff or ground out to shortstop. DO BETTER

  11. He's one of those guys who's a total prick unless he's on your team. Purports not to understand why he gets thrown at, lol
  12. He hit that one hard. Torve was from South Dakota, which is like Canada I think. Here's something: Prince George is one of Canada's most dangerous cities with organized crime, drugs and a high murder rate.
  13. Lefty wearing 29 reminds me of Ike Davis a little but Young to me is more of a modern-day Kelvin Torve. What do you think?
  14. The Mets are 4-4 on Tuesdays-- 4-0 at home and 0-4 on the road. The TNMC has beaten the Phillies 5-1, the DBacks 8-3 and the Pirates 2-1 (we skipped the early season win over Miami). The key to victory in all games has been scoring more runs than the other teams did.
  15. The (Undefeated) Tuesday Night Mets Club will be at this one, being it a Tuesday night game
  16. Rode the bike right by Cyprus Hills cemetery today.
  17. Oh that's Dicky Gonzalez. I so deluded myself into thinking he was going to be the bomb, I went to his MLB debut so as to say I was there when it all started.
  18. =metirish post_id=193625 time=1748170238 user_id=72] Acuña needs to have a wake up call too
  19. Fan-Only Meeting paying off
  20. Today is the first day of the season I woke up mad at the Mets. I suspect many of you are feeling the same way too. I'm calling a fans-only meeting to work out these problems. I'd like to begin with shock and awe--proposing they send Mark Vientos to Syracuse as a signal of their seriousness to fix this mess (and get him straightened out before Baty eats all his lunch). Anyone else have comment or suggestions? That's why we're gathered here today. And remember--nothing we say here leaves this room
  21. That remark belonged in the game thread but I was too pissed off to put it there
  22. Here we go. When was the last time a Mets game went 12 innings?
