  1. That rain was something, but now it's over. Skies never even darkened but a got about an hour of rain in 10 minutes
  2. Yeah that's pretty humiliating for Juan
  3. Speaking of Oyster, Amazon informs me ONCE UPON A TEAM is now available for the bargain price of $0.00 on your kindle!
  4. Juan Pierre, next to Oyster Burns
  5. Larry Walker, top row, second from right
  6. Oyster Burns, lower left
  7. Is it Justin "I Hit A Shocking 3-Run Home Run Off Madison Bumgartner And The Mets Managed To Lose Anyway*" Ruggiano? *-these details may not be not accurate
  8. It's that guy in the [CROSSOUT]Rangers [/CROSSOUT] Rays cap, obviously. It's not Ty Wigginton but it's a guy like him
  9. Up my alley + MFS62 would know... Tom Sturdivant in the W cap
  10. That this feature went on hiatus for the whole of COVID crisis is a crime
  11. I knew I recognized that guy
  12. I wanna say the Dodger was a Met, the other Pedro Martinez
  13. Dillon Gee in the Texas hat? Appier the Angel?
  14. Benjamin Grimm wrote: If a doubleheader game is tied after seven innings, do they start the eighth inning with a runner on second base, or does that still wait until the tenth inning? I'll be the former. But I'm tellin ya, the solution to game length longterm is 7 inning games all the time. I'd adjust though and play by the dumb 10th inning rule only when it got to the 10th. To the extent this idea of radical change is inevitable.
  15. Today I biked past the Cyclones stadium, which like Citi is on lockdown, but from the boardwalk could see 2 unidentified outfielders, then there's a spot to view the bullpen. Smushing my face into the fence there was Mazeika, with a big-ass beard, chatting with our own Paul Sewald. Sewald gave me a fist pump when I said "Let's go, Alternative Site Mets!"
  16. I rode my bike by citifield today, tried to do my regular circle around the building but I usually enter off Roosevelt by the 7, today I rode down 126/seaver way and tried to turn in at the right field corner and a security guy rushed from a booth to meet me. "You can't go in there!" Doh
  17. =Theoldmole post_id=44377 time=1598032744 user_id=77] Do we know yet who the afflicted parties are?
  18. =kcmets post_id=44326 time=1597958252 user_id=53] Game postponed, Covid related issues.
  19. I don't really care for there being "one guy" especially if it means using Diaz on consecutive days where he tends to err. I do believe when you get the baton in a relay, you're the 4th guy, and your team have you a lead, most times a competent pro can win. Also this is more about the opener than closer.
  20. By the way, my copy of the Worlds Away LP did not have the sunset image on it. It was just blue. They put the sunset on subsequent pressings once "Love Will Find A Way" became a hit
  21. I'm thinking it was New York since he was calling Matt Harvey Night. But whatever. Brennaman in the games I've heard seems okay. The Reds fans who hear him everyday find him pompous but popular, like Joe Buck also a Fox star and son of a broadcast legend.
  22. Thom Brennaman -- local TV Reds announcer and Fox game-of-the-week caller got hot-mic'ed during last night's game using the F-word. Not that f-word, but "fag." But, it was way worse than just that. There was dripping contempt in his voice as he expressed it. Came back after and excused himself from the broadcast (as a home run was hit, remarkably), apologizing but you could tell he knew there was no "not guilty" plea available to him. He's been invited to speak at the Republican Convention so not all is lost
  23. This is at the heart of my remark above. When the wins come we hear a Gary Apple ballwashing. "That bullpen is REALLY getting it done, isn't it, Todd Zeile?"
