  1. Nikon Mets player of the year Jonathan F. VILLAR
  2. Tying run on 1st, 2 out for Conforto, who by the way is signing with the Braves next year
  3. Not John, David. And Jackie Bradley... One possibility brought up by the Sherminator in this morning's column. He thinks through a lot of possibilities amid all the uncertainty ahead, and the need to have a Baseball Boss right away could trigger that kind of compensation. I'd just as soon trade Squirrel for Beane but whatever. Main point: the Mets had about the same record they'll have this year in 2019 when Brodie, Jeff & Fred said, once again, screw our futures let's pay full retail for a closer, and bite me, Chaim Bloom. Then Steve said, FU Brody Fred & Jeff, our D sucks ass so here's Lindor and McCann. And we're exactly where we started, only with a worse farm system, more free agents, no GM, labor strife ahead. Sherman says: Preserve the farm and do the Stearns Milwaukee Plan: short deals, no prospect trading, goodbye to Scooter and Baez, get a bunch of veteran starters on make-good deals. See what happens. I'm halfway on board
  4. I could get into Jimmy Rollins or RA Dickey or Gar Ryness
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Hey, it's probably Hembree's final home game as a Met too. No love for Hill neither Sure looks like Conforto is outta here
  6. Still that was the best Mets inning in months
  7. First and last Tuesday Night Mets Club games of 2021 end on walkout infield dribbler by the xatcher
  8. Williams is long tossing out here, he will also be pitching tonight, maybe as soon as the 2nd
  9. That home run by Diaz hit just across the aisle from me. Missed it off the bat but shoulda caught it. #payattention
  10. Gotta say, the Mets have been trying to connect with younger fans... mostly high-spending. High-lifetime-value young families ... but childish between innings stunts aren't getting it done. I've arrived at the park, by the way
  11. Some kid called Syndergaard is supposed to start Game 2
  12. No benefit of the doubt, sure. But as i interpret the discussion having been though that disruption of the last year, it is clear more than ever that red flags will have to be watched and Beane's 20 years without them-- the topic of discussion here--speaks to his strengths here.
  13. Also, should be raining for a couple hours prior to start, so we'll get our $$ worth like it or not
  14. Maybe the best solution is redeploying Luis elsewhere in the org if/when the new Baseball Boss brings in his guys.
  15. This is a single-admission DH, beginning at 4:10 pm. Stroman is one of the starters but unsure for which. This is also the final gathering of the Tuesday-Night Mets club for the year. Depending on how early I can escape my work responsibilities I wanna get at least 9 innings in, so you can find us in Section 301 (Soft-Drink Central, closest to the bullpens).
  16. So, lots of speculation about the possibility of the Mets hiring Billy Beane. I gotta say, I love it as an idea more than, say, Theo Epstein. He's got the Sandy connection, the Mets' glory days heritage etc.
  17. So is the season over? Congrats and a big fat FY to bfmc's Gulden's Spicy Brown who hammered the FY Yankee Blue Jeans 10-zip in the championship playoff. I held onto Taijuan Walker a week or a month too long, I guess, but still won the regular season by 4.5 games. In a special awards ceremony, the FYYBJ's crowned BRANDON BELT over Freddie Freeman and Joey Votto as Schaefer Player of the Year; KEVIN GAUSMAN as Schaefer Pitcher of the Year; JONATHAN VILLAR as Schaefer Bench Player of the Year; and um, EDWIN DIAZ as Schaefer Reliver of the Year. The League GM of the Year goes to Johnny Lunchbucket who picked last in the draft, took Lindor and Conforto as his top choices, and still whalloped you ****ers.
  18. Yeah all good points. All that said, I'm almost indifferent to whether they bring Luis back and that's wrapped up in the bigger question of whom his bosses will be. At the very least, having a guy with lots or org knowledge and experience managing (even if those experiences include not making easy to make playoffs 2 years straight) have got to count for something
  19. Congratulations to another team we ought to have played better against having made it look easy, doing a thing that should have been easy for us, all else relative, in this blessed season.
  20. Fammy is ok with me. Peter getting handcuffed by every throw to the base oughta be concerning
  21. Hey Luis made a strategic decision that worked out.
