  1. Saves in a Metly Career 1) John Franco: 276 2) Armando Benitez: 160 3) Jesse Orosco: 107 4) Tug McGraw: 85 5) Roger McDowell: 84 6) Neil Allen: 69 7) Skip Lockwood: 65 8) Braden Looper: 57 9) Randy Myers: 56 10) Doug Sisk: 33 11) Billy Wagner: 32 Not much to say in Saves, except Mets never had too many out right "closers" for more than just a handfull of years. I mean even Tug didn't have that long of a run as THE GUY in the pen. It took untill 1973 for McGraw to be rid of the co-closer title with Taylor and Frisella! And the next year Bob Miller actually "finished" more games! (according to Baseball-Reference.com)

Scary 1) Tom Seaver 198 2) Dwight Gooden 157 3) Jerry Koosman 140 4) Ron Darling 99 5) Sid Fernandez 98 6) Al Leiter 95 7) Jon Matlack 82 8) David Cone 81 9) Bobby Jones 74 10) Steve Trachsel 65 Seaver is in the elite of elite, arguably the best righty Post-WWII Gooden, Koosman, Darling, Sid, Leiter, Cone and Matlack could start for many teams in their primes, and all had careers of disticntion. Fresno Jones and Trachsel are in the "Which Doesn't Belong and WHY?" category =

  5. Willie Howard Mays. Great shot from old Jarry Park

Let us know where the pitcher's mound was, so we can stand there and pretend to be Tom Seaver. Or Dwight Gooden. Or Victor Zambrano. Put a dotted line along the path of the ball the Mookie dribbled through Buckner's legs. It's not about the Beatles. It's about the Mets. Oh I agree as well, and a marker out by Left Field where Cleon stood to grab the final out of 1969. But that was such a huge happening that it must be commemorated, more so than the Met related stuff. And I say "All I ask" is because I'm assuming the Mets will do the right thing with the Mookie thing, the mound, ect
  7. K! 10-8 heading to the bottom of the 8th

Im growing to hat Preston Wilson---follows with a ground rule double. Should never have traded him. I mean look who we got for him, a glorified DH who couldn't throw a turtle out! SC=31
  9. Yup. The Beatles were a World Class live band, but as trail blazers in stadium rock, they came up WAYYYYYYY too short. Put it this way, the 66 McCartney could never even attempt to do what the 06 McCartney does with every section of the stadium singing the Na na na na na na! Na na na! Hey Judes at the end of Hey Jude. Famous story of course, though not sure if it was for Shea or another venue, is that Ringo would tell the other three that a song sounded really good that night, and the others would say that they never played the song Ringo was talking about! Thats how bad the Beatles sound was doing those first stadium tours
  10. Right behind where 2nd base was, a HUGE monument...well okay, scaled down, of a stage set, drummer and three gutiarists, with two mikes and a keyboard. Yup. Ringo, George, Paul and John. The Beatles! And, I want this monument to have a built in speaker that blares nothing but what the Beatles set lists were (and mixed in with other Beatle tunes from that era and/or their live material) in an endless loop. THAT would be...well...fab!

  15. Willets Point wrote: Wow them Mets have a lot of runs. Should of tuned in earlier. However, logic would dictate that the Mets are now done with their scoring since you, yourself have labeled yourself a "jinx" with bold statements concerning the Mother F****g Yankees and Boston Red Sox. Therefore, according to my calculations, the Mets chances of scoring now, thanks to you tuning in, are the same as the sarcasm content that I am about to produce. SC= 523,321,701,956 to 1
  16. Logic would dictate that Mr. Milledge is now fully aware that his 2006 Major League Baseball season will end come October 1st, after the Mets-Washington game that Sunday afternoon. Therefore, it is good that the Young Mr. Milledge shows the Mets that he will not become another Victor Diaz. Or even Don Bosch!
  17. Very logical on Mr. Wright's part. Logic would dictate that Mr. Wright's slump would be over starting at this very point. [/url]
  18. Mister Zvon. I find it highly illogical for you to use your Adope Photoshop program to superimpose Jose Reyes' visage over mine for that graphical image. I do find it facinating that such a doctored image could find its way here on the Cranepool Forum. Live Long, and Prosper
