John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Was it Rogers who derailed the season by starting the magic number countdown last Independence Day? I'll take the blame for that. But in my defense, the Mets were up. Heck, there was a Kevin Kiernan Post column right around this time that declared the division over because of how the Mets handled the Dodgers during a weekend series. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Well, CLEARLY being 1 and a half up on August 21st is not the time to start playing games with Baseball Karma!

Larry was the one non-former Met/Jet employee, fan or scribe to be interviewed for that "Goodbye Shea" DVD that came out earlier this summer.

BTW, weird thing I just remembered about all the L-M dealers pulling down numbers. But Howie, after he pulled his, said that many of the current Mets would be pulling their corresponding numbers. Wonder if the disaster that was the spring and early summer changed that part of the plan? I.e. the Mets wouldn't want a chorus of boos raining upon Heilman as he pulled # 48. -
Take out the books, and put this one in them!

I'm going to go with Aaron as my guess.

TPTB can't rely on the "Just wait until he comes back, things will be better" line as the ship takes in water around them. Forces their hand to make a move, one way or another.

Can anyone unveil this here number? Well, sadly Abigail and Spencer are not related to Jimmy Breslin, but I'd hope they are Met Loving Little Big Shots. -
="bmfc1"]Mike Tirico. On "Mike & Mike" today, he said that he will be taking his children to Shea this weekend for the last time and remembering all that happened there. He said "it may be a dump, but it's our dump." Oh, that is so not going fly around here! =

Also he seemed to join the ranks of "biggest partiers despite the least amount contributing to making said party" during the East Clinching clubhouse celebration.

A win is a win, but yeah, this pen is still looking mighty scary. Even with a healthy Wagner. This is what we are going to war with heading into the final month and a half of the regular season?

Wolfie, did you pick up one of those Topps packs from any of your usual channels?

Come on Joey, take it home.

Ruh-roh! Need a nice Triple Play here!

8 "scattered" hits, 4 Ks, one run (homer by Andy LaRoche in the 7th). In all, good outing for Petey.

Also Lynyrd Skynyrd on Sep. 20th Yeah, Reyes is earning his beer with a triple, homer and 2 RBIs on the night.
