  2. Tough call. Assuming that both Floyd and Reyes are out again, I'd say it's 50/50, with perhaps Willie putting Chavez there. (Personally, I say yes, put him leading off).
  3. Tom McCarthy reports that the Mets clubhouse "erputed a bit" when some random minor leaguer hit a bomb off Roger Sh*thead Clemens this afternoon.
  4. This guy Saito -- I know he's Japanese -- but he looks a lot like Mariano Rivera.
  5. Ouch. That's gonna erase a lot of the good will he'd been building up.
  6. Endy gets it done...sort of. RBI but an out. Now's your chance Jose.
  7. This Saito guy seems pretty good too. Tying run now at the plate. 3 walks this inning...and we know what walks do!
  8. Centerfield wrote: I get the feeling those tack-on runs Heath Bell allowed are going to hurt. Jose Valentin is gonna get his chance to show those errors can be made up for. We shall see.
  9. Awww, Grady, I was just starting to like this Broxton guy.
  10. First 3 guys reach base off the new reliever. I'm hoping for some Grady Little magic here...
  11. Bases loaded with no outs certainly is intriguing.

  13. Wow, that was absolutely terrible. Jose, you best keep hitting because those errors were pretty costly.
  14. Elster88 wrote: You do realize that your split is 60/40 right? Right. I didn't think Soler quite had a "6" game but 5 seemed appropritate. Where's the "overboard" you're talking about? A 70/30 split?
  15. Elster88 wrote: Soler had a nice game. Let's not go overboard. We held them to 1 run but you only gave the pitching staff half the POTG points?
  16. With 2 outs and a runner on, you shouldn't be pitching around Lowe, Pedro. I see you retired him on a flyball to center, but it was a 3-1 count. Seriously, you've thrown 70+ pitches in the 4th inning, how about you challenge him by throwing strikes? Muchos gracias.
  17. Defensively, we wouldn't really hurt that badly if Chavez was in center, Valentin in left and Matsui at second. Offensively, it'd suck. And no bench.
  18. Appreciate the effort, but Carlos, you can't get hurt! We don't have anymore outfielders!

  21. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Derek Lowe vs. the Mets: http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/opponent.php?PlayerCode=5352 Wow, I thought I knew the UMDB backwards and forwards but didn't know that feature existed. I hereby amend my previous statement to "first time the Mets have faced Lowe as a starter."
  22. Here's a funny coincidence: Angels are playing the Devil Rays today (6/6/06).
  23. I believe this is the first time the Mets have ever faced Lowe. Only the 2nd Benson Bunch pitcher we've faced this year.
