  13. Whoever wrote that for him did a great job. I was actually touched until I remembered it was Barry Bonds. Sixty-five hits to 3000...probably more of a motivator than the ring. Why would he stick around otherwise? What does he need it for?

  16. Castillo a late scratch, the knee. Delgado believes he's maybe a day away.
  17. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Let's hope for an easy tension-free victory. Said the man whose name adorns the stadium we just left, "All of us might wish at times that we lived in a more tranquil world, but we don't. And if our times are difficult and perplexing, so are they challenging and filled with opportunity." Easy and tension-free would be fine. Victory is paramount. Willis got saved for this one. That's pretty annoying.

  20. ]Opposing executives say the Mets have been exposed as potentially soft -- yet again. And when it's cloudy, sources tell me, in-the-know tough guy reporter Bob Klapisch, exclusively that it might rain. Gee Klap, a five-game losing streak and you've got EXECUTIVES giving you the QT? A .500 team for 3-1/2 months has played inconsistently before the eyes of the world and you have EXECUTIVES giving you the skinny? Everyone who cares about baseball and the Mets has seen they are not impregnable but you found EXECUTIVES who could provide a Bob Klapisch scoop that they're potentially soft? Reportedly, Bob Klapisch is a tool.
  21. I hate to predict turning points because of the presumptuousness and futility of it, but something about that ball Jose stuck right there in the padding last night...he scored on it, next time up he singled and scored, next time up he moved Green over (maybe not his intention, but it buit a run), plus the perfect positioning for the double play on Logan...I think we'll look back on Wily Mo Pena's search as the night Jose Reyes found himself. (Or as just a ground rule double that otherwise would have been a triple.)
  22. ="TransMonk"]Green is smoking hot right now I swear I read this at first glance as "Green is smoking pot right now" and wondered how that helped his hitting. ETA: Maybe on the pitches that are high and outside.
