With Michael Perez not added to the active roster (implying Nido is no worse than day-to-day), the roster tradeoff is Vogelbach for Blankenhorn.

DVB will wear 32 if the nameplate above his locker isn't lying.

The Pirates are the only NL team we haven't seen this year, but now we're seeing them granularly.

Travis Blankenhorn was designated for assignment in the same sweep of events that swooped up Michael Perez.

Chasen Bradford, 2-0 as a 2017 Met and 7-0 as a major leaguer through 2019, says he's no longer a professional baseball player. https://twitter.com/cbbaseball46/status/1550333907131932672

Came out of nowhere and got the job done repeatedly. Hope there's a bullpen-solidifying move behind this.

Mets draw a Blankenhorn —Trevor Blankenhorn — to take Dom's active roster spot. TB will wear 27.

Dom Smith goes on the IL with an ankle sprain incurred in the doubleheader at Wrigley this past Saturday. No corresponding move yet announced. Ender Inciarte has elected free agency after his DFA.

I obtained this card from a classmate in a straight cash deal several years after the fact. I was so fascinated that there was a totally mysterious player identified as a Met from a season (and set) I remembered that I had to have a Jerry Robertson the same way I had to have at other intervals of my collecting an Ernie Banks and a Sandy Koufax. One of the best dimes/quarters I ever spent. Don't recall the price. Still recall the satisfaction.

I look forward to forgetting how lame all this is and, in a year, looking forward to it all over again.

Dave Zirin: Rachel Robinson is living history and a national treasure. She is also a link to a time of white supremacist terror backed by the legal system. This was an era too many of us naively believed was in the dustbin of history. But if we need to fight the wars of the twentieth century again in the twenty-first, as the U.S. Supreme Court stands poised to repeal decades of progress, we have examples of the kind of courage it will take to steel ourselves going forward. That courage is and has always been ample in the heart of Rachel Robinson. https://progressive.org/magazine/rachel-robsinson-national-treasure-zirin/https://progressive.org/magazine/rachel-robsinson-national-treasure-zirin/
