  1. Matsui on 2nd with nobody out thanks to an error, it is CRUCIAL that we get him home here, at the very least.
  2. another lack of offense night for the Mets which has been all too common since the Milwaulkee series.
  3. ]Wouldn't want to see someone claim Jose Valentin on waivers. perish the thought...
  4. the offense has been slumping bigtime without Beltran, it might just be coincidemce but he really helps spark the lineup since the guys in front of him arent going to get on base enough
  5. Alou crushes one and the Mets get what they deserve for an ill-advised intentional walk. Kaboom, you wusses.
  6. Glavine walks bonds, thats lame, for Bonds to beat you he has to homer, now that you've pushed Vizquel to 2b it only takes a single to score a 2-out run.
  7. I sense a quiet IGT tonight. Nady got a late break on what became a Vizquel single and Howie Rose says he was scared that Matsui wouldn't stop running towards him making him pull up short. You gotta call Matsui off Nady! Floyd makes a warning track catch. Bonds up with Vizquel on 1B.
  8. false alarm. they are getting the stupid hocey broadcast out of here now in time for the first pitch.
  9. They've got hockey crap on WFAN, hockey sucks, where the hell is the Met game?
  10. Wright 3 Chavez 3 Floyd 2 Delgado 1.5 Franco .5
  11. definetaly confusing, i liked it better whe you know the poster by avatar without looking at the names
  12. lets put 1/3 of the games in the books before we decide who is having a great/terrible season... i still think Wigginton isn't going to be a good player, He's got a nice headstart though so i'd think he can get his final OPS to .750
  13. 450 PA would be fairer to Bret imo, dont penalize the guy if he suddenly starts walking like a madman
  14. well yeah, nut you've gotta ignore all that because it doesnt jivew with Bret's fantasy world where the Mets are always wrong.
  15. ="Bret Sabermetric"]="Nymr83"]what are you bitching about? i don't give a rat's ass what willie says to M&MD, i care about what he DOES and he hasn't yet treated Traschel like a "5th starter" this year. Except for skipping his turn in the rotation, you're 100% correct. If you pay attention to the games, baseball makes more sense. Try it and see. i thought that was rain-related, i apologize if it wasnt
  16. ]I was telling anyone who wants to blame the Wilpons that they also must then credit them. The amount of blame and credit to spread around varioes from team to team, but on ALL teams the owner isn't a non-factor which is why you can't dismiss the owner's role, i was only pointing out the flaw in the politics analogy. If the Mets succeed (or fail) the credit (or blame) goes to BOTH the owner and the GM (and his staff.) The credit/blame can also be shared with a previous GM administration if their moves were the cause for success/failure at least in part. I think a GM always needs to be given a couple of years before you stop blaming things on and crediting things to the former GM.
  17. I think thats a flawed analogy because its all one administration (the Wilpons) with a different front man.
  18. what are you bitching about? i don't give a rat's ass what willie says to M&MD, i care about what he DOES and he hasn't yet treated Traschel like a "5th starter" this year.
  19. So we're gonna let him open against the Braves instead of Pedro? yeah, way to set the tone for the series guys...
  20. The Yankees are without a doubt the worst, i have NEVER heard someone kiss ass to a team as much as Sterling and Waldman do. Nevermind the fact that Sterling forgets the score/inning/number of ball and strikes with alarming frequency.
  21. I don't think you should post information and then tell us to "buy the book" if we want an explanation of what you posted. Either put the information in it's proper context when asked to do so or don't quote it in the first place.
  22. Zvon wrote: Beltran isnt even available to pinch hit? available to hit but not play CF which ended up ok because he'd have been used for Chavez with 2 on when Chavez ended up singling.
  23. Bret Sabermetric wrote: They battled. he's not here anymore, keep up.
  24. ]This game jumped the shark when Paul "Ideal No. 2 Hitter" LoDuca GIDPed with nobody out in the first inning. or when the Mets pulled to within 5-4 and had the bases loaded and someone struck out on all fastballs.
  25. if those were my only 2 choices i'd reserve Beltran for Cameron this week, that being said I'd prefer an alternative to both for the week.
