  1. another reason to deal one if a proven pitcher is made available. i think you should usually trade a prospect for a good veteran, my problem comes when a prospect is traded for a mediocrity.
  2. I still think that until Pedro is on the mound for the Mets he should not factor into Minaya's thinking when it comes to the Mets' pitching needs. Relying on him to come back on time and effective is asking for trouble. as for trading gomez/pelfrey we have milledge, gomez, and martinez as the future in the outfield along with 5 more years at least of beltran, its highly unlikely that one ofthose young guys doesnt get dealt in the next couple of years, so if the right trade is out there theres no reason not to do it. Pelfrey has a 6.10 ERA and a 1.742 WHIP in 51 2/3 major league innings. i still like the guy but his stock has got to be headed south.
  3. i'd have no problem with discussion/commentary of what happened yesterday, but just posting the scores and nothing else is stupid and pretty much spam
  4. "moronic" isn't even the right word. the only explanation i can think of is that he was trying to protect his miniscule (0.50 entering play today) ERA, and thats a bad bad bad reason to do something.
  5. had what finished? a copy + paste from the cbs scoreboard?
  6. this is a pretty stupid thread to start the next day if you dont even have anythig to say about any of the games
  7. Glavine coming out, the Mets need 9 more outs but Joe Buck says "this is career win number 295." Jackass.
  8. its ok, we'll save some runs for tommorow... and more importantly for Atlanta (who got clocked by the Red Sox today in game 1 of a doubleheader)
  9. woah... Rodriguez double-clutched and then stopped and i figured "haha infield single".... but Reyes slipped and fell
  10. Johnny Dickshot wrote: It hit him in the glove. while he was airborne and said glove was over his head where he couldnt completely see. it was a homerun without his help by the way, whoever said otherwise
  11. Johnny Dickshot wrote: nice catch Johnny. Could you embarrass yourself any more? he got up over the fence and got a glove on it, its hard to fault him there.
  12. Damon almost robs Wright, but almost doesnt count!
  13. i dont like chavez trying to steal there, myers blows and you have the heart of the order up, just let them hit.
  14. take that yankee motherfuckers!
  15. the yankee season continues to unravel, lets smack this guy around please.
  16. the dugout weighs in with their usual hmor http://dugout.progressiveboink.com/archive/b83.html
  17. Perez 5 Chavez 2.75 Delgado 1 Reyes .5 Wagner .5 Smith .25
  18. 3-2 to Giambi...fuck...
  19. fuck, matsui reaches on an Easley misplay with 2 outs! never give the yankees extra outs, they fuck you.
  20. i think we're guilty of short-memories here, Franco was alot "scarier" than Wagner will ever be, and i think Benitez was about the same.
  21. sit down damon! randolph will bring on Smith to face Jeter with a 3-2 lead and 2 outs in the 8th. great job by Perez.
